2024 Presidential Race

I wasn't trying to come across as hostile BB. I apologize if the way I worded my post made you feel that way bro. Nothing but love here man. Hope you are feeling OK too. I hope we can get some real unity in this country too man. Despite what the MSM screams all the time, people simply dont hate eachother. We have 1000x more in common than our differences. Identitity politics is a cancer that needs to be excised from this nation immediately.
Amen.

I know that you're just giving your best guess and you'll probably be pretty dang close to correct. If that is the case then screw them. The Rs pissed away a majority from 2017 to 2019 and if they do it again they will lose bigly in 2026.

Yeah, I would wish they get to something resemblung a flat tax.

But, neither side wants that. Too much lobbying and campaign $$$ to battle it out every 2-6 years than actually change it....

Appreciate the detailed response..I think removal of income tax is a long term goal..won't happen immediately, but the no tax on OT and Tip is interesting...if also like the idea of a consumption tax...I think with the no tax on OT we would see a improvement on production

Personally, I see the no taxes on tips and OT as going nowhere. The Rs will attach it to a bill they know the Ds will hate. It wont make it to Senate floor.

Gives the Rs a campaign talking point

The Rs will get a middle class tax cut through and position it in a way that they provided a cut to all workers, not just tip and OT.

The left has no shame - the delayed counting is a strategy, part of the plan. Fortunately, we had competent people in place this time around.

There are many House races and a few Senate races coming down to the wire. Hopefully they are still watching.

I don't know. The one positive about Trump is that he aggressively pursues his promises. Even his critics can't deny him. Granted, he typically can't achieve 60% or so of what he wants but that was because others held him up. The Republican party in office now is more MAGA than ever. Not just the Republicans, but MAGA itself now controls pretty much every part of the Federal Government (or will if House continues to stay to trend). I can see some drastic change coming.

Granted, people are going to find out that State Governments have far more power than people think and states like California will be pretty successful in blocking 90% of the MAGA stuff.

Let's not act like this isn't always the message. Trump told his people to keep fighting because the election was rigged and they kept that up for 4yrs
If she's as unifying as Trump then it was not a unifying speech. I think Trump is a poor barometer in that regard

Personally, I think he said it to get elected without any intent to get it enacted. I dont think he or the Rs have the will to pursue it too hard. They will make some political hay from it but it will ultimately be repackaged as a middle class tax cut for all....

I think people would be more willing to work OT. Its barely worth it right now, you get taxed so much you almost end up making less than your nornal.

I've been on team consumption tax for awhile. I wouldnt mind paying a little more on that than them garnishing my wages every pay cycle.

Capoverdi asked him in English if he was Thomas [Zimmer], and the two had a delightful conversation. When Trump was elected, Dr. Curran called and told him that, back in the 1980s, Tom Zimmer said he had received a "premonition" and that "a certain man would lead America back to God"—and that man would be none other than Donald J. Trump.

"The millionaire playboy from New York?" the incredulous doctor is said to have asked Zimmer.

"Yes," the Hermit of Loreto responded, adding he was so sure Donald Trump would become a great spiritual leader of America that he wrote his name on a brick and had it placed in the reconstruction of St. Peter's Holy Door after the Jubilee so Trump would receive blessings from the many Masses that would be said in the Vatican.
