2024 Recruiting Thread

Most posters on this forum know my main focus/interest is recruiting! I knew Jaloni was not coming to Tennessee before you joined this forum in 21……..

I live near Nashville and have watched her since she started as a point guard when she was in the eighth grade ! I have spoken to recruiters from other schools and it is pretty much common knowledge she was not interested in UT ….. I am surprised she even visited but she did ? 🤷‍♂️.

My biggest Tennessee fo pa was when we got a verbal commit from Jasmine Massengale from Chattanooga…… We had I think 5 kids from Tennessee ranked in the top 50 that year ! And we took ONE PLAYER ! And the rest of this story …. I don’t have time to discuss! Moving on….

Not disagreeing on the issues prior to Harper arriving. Harper was given a clean slate to recruit in-state players with no attachments to the previous staff except in Tennessee name. There is concern and merit to not make the “Top 7” when the staff has had 3 years to mend the bridge and didn’t. Did she un-official visit for herself or did she visit as a package when they came to Knoxville and play.

The in-state advantage usually occurs because the recruit grew up a fan or at least familiar with the program. Proximity to family is also a bonus. In this case, the recruit grew up actively rooting against the LVs and has no concern for proximity. She might as well be a recruit located in Columbia or Storrs. There was no in-state advantage to be had.

Which goes back to my stance on not mending the bridge because of family before feeling slighted. Seems by both sides the attempt was there and left at that.

To channel my inner CreekDipper, what does fox paws have to do with it? Being serious why the angst from posters about a player who has repeatedly shown by her words and actions that she dislikes Lady Vols and had no intention of going here? Seems to me the coaches deserve accolades for even getting her to visit. So they did not convince her to change her mind and that’s okay. We want players who want to be here.

Cambridge wanted to leave the state.
I still believe she will end up going to SC or LSU

And will then likely transfer 1-2 times after that. I’m sorry but we’ve seen this story before. These “picky” families that don’t give schools a chance tend to have problems no matter where they end up.

2024 offers:

1. Imari Berry (7)
2. Mikayla Blakes (16)
3. Alexandra Blue (31)
4. Kaniya Boyd (29) To Tennessee!
5. Jaloni Cambridge (3) Didn't make top 7
6. Justice Carlton (6) Didn't make top 5
7. Morgan Cheli (15) To UCONN
8. Kendall Dudley (12) to UCLA
9. Joyce Edwards (1)
10. Jordan Lee (9)
11. Tahj Monet-Bloom (38) To MS St
12. Olivia Olsen (8) To Michigan
13. Me'Arah O'Neal (35)
14. Taliyah Parker (57)
15. Bryanna Preston (40) made her top 7
16. Arianna Roberson (27)
17. Zania Socka-Nguemen (43)
18. Blanca Thomas (26) To NC
19. Ava Grace Watson (47) To Ohio State

i.e. any player with the last name "Hayes" from the state of Tennessee seems to fit that bill.

Coach I'm newer here, but can you tell me what your coaching credentials are at the d1 level?

I do the hard part, meeks...I create the athletes that d1 level coaches search for
I have seen girls I have coached all the way through the Olympics
The vast majority of D1 coaches cannot say that
If you need more than that
stay tuned,,,I'll be here all season

I agree that Madi will be one and done at Wofford. I believe a P5 school will give her an opportunity. Perhaps, the Lady Vols will give her a look. GBO.
