Yes she was a surprise hope Koval is too.
Does anybody have the latest on a player like Roberson. She is an elite post player that is left on the board at least for now. You could match her up with Nguemen and have quite a combo for the future.

It seems the Tennessee mystique would recruit players here.....the NCAA trophies in the display case should help...just don't understand how recruiting has fallen off so far........no matter I will always pull for Lady Vols when they play...

Not about the trophies..it's about the Benjis
It's definitely not about trophies from 20 yrs ago, before they were born. No disrespect to the legacy, but it's been too dang long.

It's simple really...
In the game of basketball you are taught to have a very short memory...You can't dwell on what happened twenty years ago, you have to consider what has the team done lately...And lately we haven't won the SEC and have had early exits from the NCAA

Last year will help and the drastic turnaround that Rickea made (she was as dominant in Miss St as an individual, but not the positive team-influence like she is here) and the instant improvement of a player like Jillian Hogshead will dramatically affect recruiting.

More so, if the Lady Vols, who arguably have the best roster they have had in years, reaches it's predicted potential, it will without a doubt improve our visibility.

Therein is the crux of the biscuit...Every aspect of the org has to improve, and this has to be done from the coaching spot as well.
No more slow starts
No more mass subbing just to please the players
No more not holding players immediately accountable for bone-head plays
etc

We have very good guards, very good forwards, very good posts, very good defenders...A very good team

The next "very good" has to come from the coaching spots...We had the tools to make a deep run last year and didn't...when we do reach our full potential, it will translate into a deep SEC/NCAA run...we will not have to recruit,,,the recruits will come to US!

Once our fan base understands how important NIL is and either becomes Boost Her Club members or influences companies to sign deals with our bball players, we will he slightly behind the curve. We've lost recruits strictly based on NIL money. That's fact.

We’ve also lost kids well before NIL. Is NIL important in winning, now it plays a part but not the only part. If you have the right leadership the rest takes care of itself. The team to get to where those who believe the NIL will cure all needs to win big with less.

Getting to the W will be a top priority for some. Winning trophies for others. Growing into adulthood in a nurturing environment for others yet. NiIL will be important to all top prospects, but not necessarily top $$

Kaniya has only dropped because she didn't play a ton in aau circuits this summer.

Immediately RJ. Julian. Kaiya and the three point guards all can play good one on one defense

Please. Jackson can play decent defense for short periods, when motivated, but she also has a regular tendency to play upright,
three-quarter-effort defense--as we saw frequently last year. Hollingshead got beaten a lot in and around the paint last year--a lot. Wynn plays
very little. Darby and Striplin are not good 1v1 defenders, at all, as they both lack quickness. And we've yet to see the transfers play defense.
Key's good defense doesn't involve movement but rather just being exceedingly big and standing in front of the basket---when she does not get
duped into following her mark out of the paint and thus eliminating her shot-blocking potential, which every opponent we face will do, or attempt to do regularly.

When she was healthy the opponents tried to do exactly what you said and she still set the Lady Vols record for blocks. Trying to diminish the fact she led the country in blocks is not a good take considering that includes having to move her feet and she learned how to stay out of foul trouble which means she was also thinking the game.

First off glad Key is healthy because that's most important but hope to see the rim protector that she was because that completely changes the other teams ability to go at the rim.

Back to the point topic of this thread i think we will have some more visitors on campus very soon!

You could dissect every player on every team like that. There are no Mo Cheeks in women's college basketball. Put Candace up top and a quicker player will go right around her.

Who did Joyce Edwards list as top 4?

Yet the college coaches who have mentioned Keys defense say not only big but very quick first step with exceptional timing. Standing in front of a basket doesn't lead to being one of top shot blockers in the country or every 6-6 post would do it.

Also going into her junior year this is what the were saying about Key, "Key, a Naismith Women's Defensive Player of the Year semifinalist, led the nation with 119 blocks, and was third with 3.5 blocks per game. She was the team's most accurate shooter at 58.4% from the field while averaging 10.5 points per game.". Remember Emily Sanders she was big too, stood in front of the rim and people flew around her and she hardly blocked a shot. Point being just because you big doesn't necessarily make you a good defender or give one the ability to necesserily block shots. There is definitely a skill and knack for it. Her mother was a college volleyball player so I'm sure some that quickness and timing to the ball that is needed in Volleyball was taught to Tamari by her mom at a very young age. But hey, keep doing you.
