The rampant homophobia here, I'm done. I'm tired of it.
Nikki Haley would be a huge challenge against Biden in 2024. Ron Desantis is Trump in a cheap suit, I don't see that happening.
I could very well be completely wrong, we are years out from the primary. Just seems the Trump contingent of the party is strongest right now, and will likely carry him over any other GOP challenger. But a lot can happen in the next couple of years.
I find it amusing folks saying Pete is a victim of homophobia. His entire experience is being a mayor of a city the size of Chattanooga. Him being a homosexual is the only reason he gets any political traction. Why? I'm sure you heard lots of made up BS about Pete. No one is denying Trump is an egotistical ass hole, but your statement was a grand exaggeration. His policies weren't horrible, just his personality. No way in hell do I want Trump back in office, but I do believe he was doing better than Biden is currently doing policy-wise. Biden has been horrible.
Trump's ego might be one reason he doesn't run... I mean, you can really only blame fraud one time with any credibility.I think you are underestimating Trump's ego, and the folks that want him back in office.
No, of course Weezer was not being homophobic. I never said that at all. Look, I'm just done with this forum for a bit.homophobia - dislike of or prejudice against gay people.
Have I missed something? I didn't see anything @Weezer said that would close to homophobia much less rampant.
"I'm sure you heard lots of made up BS about Pete." I don't see how that is demeaning, other then you twisting something in your head.
That would be like saying this "burn this Republic to the ground for his ego" makes you a Trumpophobe
Neither of which I think is true. I know you got to be better then that.
I was calling out your belief that there’s this homophobic hatred of all things gay. the republicans in Texas elected a Trans, Wiccan to the Republican ticket and ultimately the Sherifs office. If people disagree with a person’s policies that doesn’t mean they’re racist or homophobic. It means they don’t like the person’s policy and the other stuff is a weak ass cop out.I wasn't calling Weez out. I'm not sure why people keep thinking that.
Trump's flamboyant nature would still take the oxygen out of any Republican Primary field, just as it did in 2016. His blunt, confrontational style hasn't lost its appeal to the Republican base. Neither has his anti-woke, identity politics messaging. I doubt he would even get much of a challenge for the Republican nomination if he does decide to run.About 25 to 30 are die hard Trump supporters to the point it’s a cult. The other 70 to 75 really want a different option. Trump getting in simply cycles is right back to where we are now in 4 years after his term. This country needs to move forward and move on.
Realistically, there are 3 tiers right now.
Trump
DeSantis
Whoever Trump endorses instead of himself
Everyone else
I’m sure the establishment types might try with Pence or others but I don’t think any of them can get the support necessary to win.
I'm glad there is at least one example of this, but you are fooling yourself if you think conservatives give a **** about LGBTQ folks. They'll be the first under the bus.I was calling out your belief that there’s this homophobic hatred of all things gay. the republicans in Texas elected a Trans, Wiccan to the Republican ticket and ultimately the Sherifs office. I see Ron DeSantis mentioned a lot. He is like a cultivated and purified version of Trump. I'm not so sure that packaging works as well with the base.
