2024 season ticket renewals going out now

They just got back with me.

At least for mine...if I relocate, i lose this years seats and have to move to the 2025 seats for this season.

(Honestly, I don't understand that even a little bit, but I'll spare the rant and wait until we have our meeting for relocation and 4Topps)

Gotta say...that is very disappointing. Extremely so.
Same. Loved my seats.

Are you saying you won’t have any season tickets for 2024 if you agree to move for 2025?

Thankfully its not that bad, I suppose.

What they are telling me is that I can remain in my current seats for 2024, but if I do so, I wouldn't be able to relocate until 2025. At that point they can't guarantee what, if any, inventory will be available.

If I relocate as they are strongly suggesting, it has to be for this season and I give up my 2024 seat location.

Where I'm lost is why that's the case. I'm not understanding why I can't ride out 2024 in my current seats, and move to my "new" seats in 2025. I'm awaiting a time to set up an in person or at least a zoom meeting.

If your seats are physically there for 2024, who will be sitting in them? Sounds like want to flip them at a higher price.

Here’s how I understand it. I have sat in Section B for years. I renewed my seats for 2024 at double the cost for 2023. If I keep my seats in 2025, the cost will double again.

Not wanting to pay double in 2025, I called UT to get options. I decided to move to a location that will be determined in the next 6 weeks to a section of LNS that will cost in 2025 the same as what I paid in 2024. But the new location is less expensive in 2024 that it will be in 2025. I will get a refund in 2024 between what I paid for my Section B seats and what the cost in 2024 is for the new location wherever that is.

Meanwhile my Section B seats in 2024 will be resold at the price I paid for them several months ago. Presumably the new occupier will know that seat will double in price in 2025.

The benefit to me in 2025 is that I will know I have a seat and will know what it costs. If I kept my Section B seat in 2024 thinking I would wait to relocate in 2025, all the new seats being constructed now will already be sold and presumably unavailable in 2025 as fewer new seats will be become available in 2025. This assumes everyone who gets seats in 2024 will keep those seats for 2025.

UT will not make any additional money off my seats in 2024.

Holy moly, I was lost after "here's how I understand it"...

I'm in the same boat.

At this point, I just need them to tell me if my seats will physically exist in 2025. My initial assumption was that my row would be torn off or something like that, and that's why they told me about the "impact" to my seats.

So far, the first person has told me "Yeah, I believe construction is why those seats are impacted." Then yesterday, in the brief conversation I had, I got a similar explanation as Volbackhomfromtx got above...that the 'impact' was the price doubling and relocation was in the interest of keeping my price the same.

So...while I'm frustrated, I'll just wait for my meeting to get a decent explanation. I know most of the entry level kids they hire work hard but have limited info, so I'll cut them some slack and just wait.

So they are not taking your seats you just don’t want to pay the increase so to keep from paying increase you are choosing to move? If so, I get that and almost considered that myself because I don’t use seat, just tickets. I kept for the draw of what we are using the tickets for this year.

Yes, my seats are not being taken. I am choosing to move to avoid paying the increase and to make sure I had season tickets in 2025 and hopefully years after. I was concerned if I waited that there would be no tickets left that I could afford.

So are they contacting everyone to see if they are willing to pony up for the big increase next year? I haven't gotten anything like that. It made some sense to me that the last rows might be impacted as the construction begins behind/above them. Contacting only some people to ask if they are going to pay up next year doesnt make sense. At least not to me it doesnt. I'm wondering if I've confused people who's seats are impacted with construction with a poster that called them about the financial part of it.

I don't believe he would every leave but I always think about how Tony has them by the short hairs now. Can you imagine the chaos if he left and trying to get people to pay 1250 per seat for baseball? My buddy I go with works at UT and told me he got in for free by showing his ID five years ago. 😂

I'm right in the middle of it and I'm just as confused as you lol. I'm starting to think we all are.

And he's right...I remember a time in the not too distant past on certain days you could get in by showing your Kroger Plus card.

I truly apologize if I confused things about relating my experience at how I understand my relocation will work because of financial issues.

I am not one of those who received a letter saying their seats would no longer be available due to construction. I approached UT not the other way around.

Maybe someone who is forced to move from Section B because of construction will get the seats I am vacating in Section B.

Oh, you're totally fine man. Nothing you did at all.

We're all playing the telephone game with this to a certain degree.

The ticket holders and the TN Fund people both (I know the rep i worked with consistently for a while has moved on, so that hasn't helped things. I don't rank high enough or work with them enough to keep a consistent one most years).

Yep! I feel like it was midweek games and/or nonconference when I was in school or just graduated (mid/late 2000s). Granted, by the time I got out of class or work, it was mid innings so I just walked in anyways.

(I just realized I'm only 41 and already looking back thinking "Ah...simpler times." 😅 )

Just got off my scheduled call where I requested to relocate due to pricing but they couldn’t give me any information on what seats might be available until they move those impacted by the future construction, first. I understand those take priority and should but what I don’t get is how they don’t know what’s available from the new additions, unless those were already sold to folks on the waiting list and current season ticket holders didn’t get an opportunity first to pick their seats. The renewal email I got, as I’m sure everyone did, was simply an invoice for my current seats; it was essentially renew or decline. They’re working off the premise that everyone just wants to keep their existing seats. Just makes sense to me to place the current season ticket holders first, then go out with next available to the waiting list. Perhaps there’s someone on the waiting list who wants to sell a kidney or doesn’t have to sell a kidney, that would rather have my seats than be placed in the cheap seats.

I was told that it is this order.
1. See who is going to keep or get rid of their seats.
2. Move the ones who will no longer have a seat for the 2024 season and then the ones who will lose their seats for 2025 season
3. I'm sure you maybe fit in here but was not discussed.
4. Fill the remaining 2024 and then 2025 seats with those on waiting list.
5. But they said this will also happen again for a few years as they add and delete seats due to construction. Should only be a few but it will happen. (This included my standing place, I was told by the person who knew where I stood). They said you might have to actually go sit in your seats. My reply was "No, I don't think so. I will just find somewhere else when I'm there."

I also asked about the selling of tickets and it depends on the amount you are selling them for and the % of tickets you are selling. If you fit into the category, no specific numbers given, that they are concluding that you are a scalper you will lose your tickets. If you are transferring them or selling a few for a reasonable amount (this is arbitrary), then you are good.
I was really concerned because our plan is to auction off all of my weekday tickets along with a meet and greet and some games meals and/or merchandise to go towards Kirby's causes this year. I was afraid they would snatch my tickets but I think we have jumped through all the hoops from compliance to tickets to other issues to make sure we can pull it off. No profit for us but just additional funds for his causes. You would not believe the concerns that we had to address to try to do a good thing to help some families. Still looking for a source to do the auctions online if anyone knows of specific ones that they have used that does not want to take a large chunk of the profits. We have considered putting a price on them but we figure we would do better with auctions. There will also be a few weekend games with the full package of seats, a meal with Kirby and another player to be named later or maybe a coach;) (still in negotiations), and merchandise. What do you think LSU package will go for?

I know it wasn’t the answer you were looking for, but that actually helps me (my tickets are supposedly construction impacted in 2025).

But I’m like you, I’m still a little lost on several things. Same questions as you, plus how it is I have to give up my 2024 seats.

Maybe my meeting will help fill in some blanks. Our needs have expanded to include merging accounts, 4Topps, various sports, etc, so I’m trying to get an in person thing set up to make it easier.
