To me something that makes CRB’s recruiting even more impressive is that he achieves his results while appearing to only pursue higher character recruits. Must really shrink the pool of potential players from which to choose. Thanks for confirming you have no courter argument. Of all the things to raise as issues/concerns, recruiting under CRB is likely the highest rated of all the criteria one would use to evaluate a collegiate b-ball program.
Ughhh...I was kinda afraid of that.
Well that’s certainly a buzzkill for our one commit in the 2024 class.
I’ve never seen Slater put down a kids talent level like that, admittedly that definitely appears to be his insinuation but with Slater a lot of times he likes to talk in “code”. Obviously a stretch but I wonder given @Stoerner Fumbles comments about Georgia, if maybe it was a reference to transferring down as in south? Again a likely stretch, just trying to read what the quote doesn’t say because a lot of times that is Slater’s game. Given the offers, recruiting rankings, and EYBL numbers at the very least it would seem like quite a reach to suggest at this point that there’s no way he can play at this level. And like I said it seems out of his normal stuff to kind of be putting down a kid like that, feels like there’s more/something else there.
Yea wasn’t looking for you to rescue it, or suggesting you’d know what it was truly about, just was thinking that maybe with your insinuation about Georgia pushing hard for him that possibly it was Slater’s insinuation. Again that’s likely a reach, but as you are also saying it’s just not like him to go at a kid like that, he’s usually pumping up kids if anything, so I was trying to read in code potentially for another meaning. Maybe Boswell/his family, someone at Tennessee, Maze/Edwards situation pissed off Slater and he’s being vocal, idk, weird all around.Sorry. I can’t rescue this one. My comment was about GA/White getting nasty at the end. I did not see any Summer ball in person this year, but haven’t heard anyone else say he’s mis-ranked. As we’ve all seen, Barnes isn’t afraid to drop out of the race if he doesn’t see what he wants. That doesn’t seem to be the case here. The thing I can’t rectify is that it’s very out of character for Slater. He doesn’t go at kids in the middle of their recruitment like that. I’ve seen him say something snide and take it down later too. He didn’t do that. On video and stats, I don’t read this kid as “the next BJ Edwards”, but of course this gave me a lump.
