She's never met a shot she didn't like. Would be down the list of my choices for guard. 34.6% in fg, 28.6 in 3pt shots last season.
i’ve never seen her play, but going off some of the previous posts with the concerns about Deja Kelly, maybe CKC and staff could help make her a more disciplined shooter?
But this highlight reel is jaw dropping.

That's true but it seems like every sports golden age was much more physical. So while u might be bigger, stronger, faster it gets pretty much offset if you're playing under the old rules. I guess what I'm trying to say is I believe the old school players had a tougher mindset, and that's 90% of the battleYeah, same when we try to compare some of the great Celtic or Laker teams to recent championship teams, prob not worth the discussion, nobody will ever know. I do however believe that athletes have been getting bigger, stronger, faster and more skilled over the years and if I was pressed to guess I would have to say the more modern teams have those advantages.
Disagree. I don't remember particularly play in the post being anywhere near as physical back in the day as now. One of things that's made the game so hard to ref now is the degree of pushing, riding, and overall wrestling that's now allowed in the post away from the ball. Back in the day those were all fouls. That's true but it seems like every sports golden age was much more physical. I think we need another center and another 3 and one more shooting guard Nye or similar. I think we need to go Cooper, Boyd, Wells at point. Coach Caldwell likes to play four guards sometime depending on the matchups. She plays matchups tries to put the best she has up against the best they have and similar as possible in playing style and size of player.I'm really on the fence about Whitehorn now. Are we getting overloaded with 6 foot tall players who are athletic but not much at outside shooting? Would much rather have Nye or a player like her.
Not on the fence about Deja Kelly. Hard, hard pass. A chemistry challenge a new team w a new system and new coach does not need. Also, yet another perimeter player who can't shoot. Just no.
Kaiya Wynn currently fits the position for a 6 ft tall athletic player who can't shoot. Nye all the way!I'm really on the fence about Whitehorn now. Are we getting overloaded with 6 foot tall players who are athletic but not much at outside shooting? Would much rather have Nye or a player like her.

I have been avoiding saying that, but exactly. Feels like we are loaded with that kind of player now.Kaiya Wynn currently fits the position for a 6 ft tall athletic player who can't shoot. Nye all the way!
Whitehorn made 125 of 243 two point shots last season that is over 50 percent. If she would leave off the three 25 of 91 she would be a more effective player. She is a much better shooter than Wynn otherwise they are quite similar.I'm really on the fence about Whitehorn now. I'm anxious for Kelly to get off the board see who is taking her.I'm really on the fence about Whitehorn now. Are we getting overloaded with 6 foot tall players who are athletic but not much at outside shooting? Would much rather have Nye or a player like her.

SC was this year. The two best 3 point shooters percentage wise in the SEC were from SC, Pao Pao and Johnson.South Carolina is not greatest outside shooting team. I think it’s more than that to the Coop transfer situation. Coop likely just needed to find a different school and get out of her home state. She missed the transfer window and fans at UT have spent a whole year questioning how she will fit base off of assumptions from outsiders.
Tennessee played SC close in three games. I imagine if Coop was not redshirted and played in those games the conversation around her would be completely different.
I'm with you on needing more inside presence. We have 8 guards and then two smaller posts in Puckett (If you play her there) snd Latham. Then you have Jill. That's it inside. I think depth there will be a problem especially of someone was injured. I know this is a guard heavy system, but every team for the most part in the sec is athletic. I don't know that we will out-athlete many (I know that's not a term). There will be games where the other team may dictate style of play so we need to be ready. We have 8 guards as it stands now, 9 if we add Whitehorn.I think we need another center and another 3 and one more shooting guard Nye or similar. I think we need to go Cooper, Boyd, Wells at point. The style of play is all out so that is why you need such a big rotation and you could easily use four inside players at the five four for the 80 minutes of a game. That is 20 minutes per player which in this type system may be all a player can play effectively.
I could go Muhammad or Weimar if NC St don't get her and another three type player like King of Pitt. Then Dye and should have a good team that can compete with most in the SEC.
I will say that Whitehorn really fits the system but so do a lot of players still in the portal.
Now there's 6'4" Spearman, but I still share your worry about post presence. I thought 6'2" Latham was more of a forward.I'm with you on needing more inside presence. Exactly. The early Lady Vols’ teams weren’t called The Corn Fed Chicks for nothin. That's true but it seems like every sports golden age was much more physical.
