2024 TRANSFER TRACKER

Some of y'all are so damn dramatic. Getting Spencer would be a great get. She was the 2022 SEC FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR for starters, and yall act like shes hot garbage. I would take what happened at Arkansas with a grain of salt because that program is a MESS and she unfortunately got stuck in the drama. I am glad she's out and has a true chance to show all her talents on a new stage. Give me Ruby and Samara and lets ride.
I agree Dwyer, Spencer, and Whitehorn put us in the second tier of teams for sure. I think those three make our roster just a great as any except SC, Texas, and LSU.

WER posted about Vandy and L. Kapinus dad follows Vandy now…so it looks like she really could be headed there.

Ruby Whitehorn mother follows Tennessee and not Florida State from what I see but that does not mean she is guaranteed to sign with Tennessee.

To be clear, I am sure they have an idea of this being a topic of discussion who is following who and what team(s) etc.

I’m not dreading where any player signs at this point. If it’s Tennessee lets go. If not then it seems CKC and her staff is recruiting at a very efficient rate.

I trust the process.

I don’t understand this logic.
Why is it so much pessimistic discussion about a single event and recruiting when people have seen the end result of this UT vs Vandy situation?

Do you really think Talaysia Cooper, Alyssa Latham, Kaniya Boyd, Jewel Spear, Sara Puckett, and Jillian Hollingshead are players that are secondary to any player on Vandy roster? They likely wouldn’t even consider Vandy. One or two players can go anywhere they want to it does not mean Vandy is beating Tennessee in recruiting when majority of UT players do not even consider Vandy.
Who is saying Vandy has a better roster? Just saying looks like Kapinus to Vandy nothing more.

Just trying to get Spencer and Dwyer this weekend they bring about 100 steals to the team. We get those two now we can worry about the other two scholarships available in the next few weeks.

I responded to that comment above. Ruby Whitehorn mother from what I can see follows Tennessee and not Florida State. That does not mean Ruby is heading to Knoxville.

Same with Kapinus. She has followed many coaches and players from three different schools in the SEC.

I say let the process play out.

We all are. Right now I'm totally concentrating on Dwyer and Spencer.

She’s been following TN bc she kept up with Rickea who played at the same high school her daughter played. Kapinus dad just started following Vandy.

Ruby's mom has likely been following tennessee since ruby was considering us out of high school. I wouldn't read too much into that. Not saying Ruby won't commit but I'd bet money mom has been following us for 2-3 years. Plus they also know Rickea and JP.

You say it's a process, I say it's a bidding war.

#you can't get them all
Well, if you like dogmatic solutions, here is one.... if you and your like minded fans want the staff to add them, pony up enough money to the collectives to make it a no-brainer for both sides. No problem. Of course you might have to provide additional funds to add a little to the balance of the roster.
they have the money now, teams are paying multiple stars and top recruits on their roster, we have none so far so we gave the money to pay.

I think we need to concentrate on getting Spencer and Dwyer this weekend they both fit the system. If we get any of the others then great. Vandy got a commitment from somebody according to skim Milkey and so did Notre Dame.
That’s just settling, just like we did before. I don’t think those 2 players will change much for us.

We have to also remember ( and this is not meant to be a slight because I support Kim and the program), but she's also a coach not proven at this level. I'm not saying she won't succeed but we are up against experienced coaches with track records of winning in D1. Other coaches are already using that against us on the recruiting trail.

Agree. These are decent players who give us depth and redundancy of what we already have and probably help keep us in the middle mix. IMO getting Ruby and/or King or Kapinus is what would move us ahead. Not going to worry about Ruby too much as long as she doesn't take any other visits.

Also we have to remember that playing time may be an issue for some as well. Some want to play sustained mins and establish their rythmns. We knew this was part of the gamble.

I’m sure they are using it against us, especially that Vandy coach.

Exactly. Tamari has followed many players on other teams. It’s more usual than not for players to follow players on other teams. They’ve played AAU, etc. together and also may just admire another player’s game.

Fortunately on a fan forum you can still support the team and roster (inasmuch as our "support" here means anything) while being honest about it. Don't have to be a hyperbolic cheerleader. The anti-Kellie crowd been doing that for years.
I think the roster with Dwyer, Spencer, and Whitehorn added puts us with a roster capable of any in the SEC other than Sc, Texas, and LSU. Then if the schedule turned out we play those three once each while SC played Texas twice and LSU twice a way we might sneak into the top three. I imagine it is hard to get commitments from players when a player that average 5 ppg wanted 50 thousand NIL deal. Were certainly not going to be a terrible team if we add those three and Cooper, Spearman, and some of the others get better.
