2025 BaseVols Projected Lineup/Roster

I watch every game I can and try to attend a few as well. However, I don’t have the bandwidth to know the strengths and weaknesses of each player.

Can someone compare the starting roster of last year to our potential starting roster this year. Where we think we step back, are about the same or a player is an improvement.

Thank you in advance. Go Vols.
I will just say that replacing the experience, leadership, confidence, and togetherness that the 2024 team possessed will be virtually impossible. That was the best top to bottom lineup that I’ve ever seen (2022 was arguably close—some would say better but 2024 was just so very special). Blake Burke, Christian Moore, Dylan Dreiling, Kavares Tears, Kirby Connell, Aaron Combs, Drew Beam, and Zander Sechrist just don’t come around very often...

I agree. But just like football, we thought we would take a step back after Peyton…..we end up winning a championship. In Basketball….we won’t ever see anything like DK ever again, and then the next year…Lanier.

I’m an eternal optimist but factor in reality. I’d just like a realistic idea of our roster.

UT is definitely reloading with tons of talent. I’m just saying last year’s team winning 60 games, winning SEC reg season, winning SEC Tournament, and winning the NC is a ridiculously high bar. That team matured and gelled through a 2022 gut wrenching loss in the Supers to Notre Dame, and a horrific start in 2023 with a disjointed team who ultimately matured and made it to Omaha. I don’t think 2024 happens without the trials and tribulations from the 2 prior seasons.

Skeptics would say that the 2024 team was stronger at 1B, 2B, and LF. The studs that are competing for those positions in 2025 will have a lot to say about that.

I just wonder who will have the jinx. Hit great in the fall and not hit at all in the spring. It has happened the past 5 years and some in the know say it has happened for about 20 years. Maybe it will be broken. But I doubt it. Never could explain it.
This year's team will have less experience for sure except in a couple of positions, SS and CF for sure, so can't judge it.

If you recall after the series in Dallas, everyone was saying Burke should be on the bench.

Only the morons…and nega Vols. VFNs (Vols for NOW) were spewing a lot of ridiculous comments that showed they were bandwagon jumpers. The game threads were unbearable when the drive by VFNs spewed their negativity. Obviously Blake Burke is a legendary player and had an incredible season both in the field and at the plate. 🍊👍👍👊👊👍🍊🍊🍊

Heaven forbid that a young man have a bad series or a slow start as they attack but I think they are the vocal minority.

The way I remember it, @chuckiepoo wanted Burke kicked off the team after first week of the season. Called him unspeakable names I won’t repeat here. Also wanted Vitello fired and Zander shipped off to the coal mines.

Last year Chapman was one of those, right? I think Reese will have a monster year offensively this year though.

Everyone? Drivebys, yes. There were plenty and there will be a fresh influx this year.

Come one, come all! I’ve got my quick “scroll on by” perfected! 😉🤙🏼
The individuals who do that crap doesn't know the game of baseball. Players are always going to have slumps or start out season slow.

How's Antigua's bat looking? Seems his glove would be aweful hard to keep on the bench.

No one really knows as this was the 2nd Fall in a row that he was injured. I think he will fill a prime reserve role and serve as a late inning defensive replacement. Unless things go off the tracks, he’s not starting over Curley, Fischer, or Kilen but should be poised for a starting role in 26 IMHO.
