Surprised at the move for all reasons you mentioned but guess more depth at 1B is needed since Perry’s departure. I hope it works out!

Updated with Alberto Osuna at 1B/DH. Vols pick up a power right handed bat for DH and pinch hitting. I don't think he sees much time at 1B—it’s Bargo at 1B IMHO.

Actually the roster has to be at 40 in two weeks, so now 12 kids will be redshirting instead of 11. Nobody wants to address how this affects all the kids in that locker room one way or another. Hey, but all the fans are excited, so who cares about the other players and their families, just win baby!

Those players and their families haven't been worried about me, so I don't really give a damn.

Exactly my thoughts. Tony absolutely will not give this kid the job until he earns it. He has shown that time and time again. He will enter the fold when it comes to competition but he will have to earn it just like everyone else. I think Osuna will win the competition for obvious reasons but he’s not just gonna show up and start no questions asked.

The competition for DH or 1B? Former…maybe. Latter….no way he beats out Bargo.

If Lawless and Clark are better than Osuna, then they will play. If they aren’t, then Tony ain’t gonna play em. That’s just how it is if you want to win.

********. Email the NCAA. I’m sure they will eagerly address your concerns.

We’ve watched this roster expand and contract, expand and contract over the years. The players did not walk onto campus blind. Clarity is something this staff cherishes.
