deleted. @chuckiepoo and I have the same message lol. KAIYA!
Just for clarification sake I was saying transfer class is a really solid(good) class. This is an elite recruiting class.. four or five notches above solid.
This is arguably the #1 recruiting class in the country.
Every player has the potential to become a future pro.
Why are people so against money being a big factor? Money has and always will talk. This isn't a knock on the coaching staff. Both things can be true. The coaching staff is good AND money is making a difference. It is just a fact. As the kids say stop being delulu.I don't think people know what's fixing to hit them!! C'mon down Lauren Hurst!!
NIL don't have nothing to do with these recruits commiting. They see a smart/real coach, vision for the future, and a style of play that fits all of them to a T!
I tried to tell folks that you can't allow the Lady Vol program to power back up because the movement is too big and powerful...well the world is about to mess around and find out.
Not against it but when PEOPLE try to insinuate that MONEY is the reason why these young women are committing...I'm a give it push back. Why are people so against money being a big factor? Can you share how you know what factors have the most influence among the recruits? Do you have actual knowledge or is this your opinion? Not against it but when PEOPLE try to insinuate that MONEY is the reason why these young women are committing...I'm a give it push back.
See here's the thing...The Pauldo Twins don't really need our NIL because they got plenty already but all they got to do is perform on the court and their brand will take off even more from self promotion. Tennessee isn't throwing out crazy money...just ask Chavez!
NIL has always been there and the platform to promote these young women has been as well. What's been the biggest catch is the STYLE OF PLAY...the sheer freedom that Coach Kim allows players to play with and plus these young women love Coach Kim!
That's the movement you see! Some fans are just sad that Coach Kim & company is getting the job done so they try to immediately attach NIL to their success in recruiting!!
People been sharing information on this forum concerning what influence these young ladies to commit here! Can you share how you know what factors have the most influence among the recruits? Do you have actual knowledge or is this your opinion?
I'm not sure any of that is evidence NIL is not a big factor. Others w "insider" knowledge tells us it absolutely is.People been sharing information on this forum concerning what influence these young ladies to commit here!
Yes, I have actual knowledge...it comes directly from the players. Like, Deniya Prawl literally mentions the style of play and her interaction with Coach Kim was a big factor! The Twins stating that the STYLE OF PLAY fits them to a T!
With all that being said...You still will try to attach NIL to Coach Kim's recruiting success. It's fine though.

Though it's true we've speculated about NIL influence endlessly on this forum, no one actually knows for sure what role it plays. Money certainly seems to be a huge factor for elite recruits like Chavez. Did the LVs find the only elites to whom money doesn't matter?
As mentioned by Leeeda97 above, I'm not sure why it's so important to discount the influence of money in modern recruiting. In life, as we all know, money talks. Why not in major college sports recruiting? Why do folks act like it's a criticism of the recruit or the process? Makes sense money would matter, just like playing style. Why the reverence for one and the absolute disdain for the other? Doesn't make sense.
NIL factors to a certain extent. Coach Kellie Harper had the same opportunities. She didn't play a fun style of basketball plain and simple so therefore she couldn't close on high school recruits.I'm not sure any of that is evidence NIL is not a big factor. Others w "insider" knowledge tells us it absolutely is.

Even at a young age Caldwell has this gravitas about her. You see it with other great coaches, it can't really be learned or taught if you don't have it naturally, it's hard to put your thumb on what it is, but you know it when you see it.
Someone this young with no power 5 experience should not be recruiting this well. But she has the support at all levels, she's listened to wise advice, and she a natural born closer.
Let's keep it going!
If she wants to do both then we should probably not expect her here just don't see how that makes her a reliable player for the team especially getting behind two months every season. Working with volleyball until December then coming in trying to be part of the basketball team is just something I would pass on if I were the basketball coach. Love to see her come to Tennessee just for basketball or even volleyball but not both.I think it’s Clemson on Hurst. Her Volleyball coach is a former basketball great Amy Geren McGowan from Clemson. Hurst is national Gatorade POY in Volleyball. Heard she wants to do both.

Duel sporting is fine if the sports don't overlap. Basketball is a learning process from day one of practice until you get to SEC play. Just hard to see someone missing the pre-season and then being able to step in and be effective in SEC play.I have a feeling she ends up only playing basketball. See post above lol. Just seems like that’s where her heart is. Dual sporting in college almost never works long term. I knew a couple girls who played softball and basketball in college but it was rough on them. Only one I can remember stuck it out all 4 years. The others eventually chose one of the other.
The amount of class you miss alone playing two sports makes it almost impossible. Professors hate it. If she was playing volleyball and basketball she’d be missing a huge chunk of in person education all year long almost.
At the end of the day, especially for young women, it’s still about getting an education.
That is how it is right now, but almost all the people scouting her think she has a very high ceiling for basketball if she devotes to it full time. I love her three point stroke and she is a much quicker player than Darby or Puckett.Even though Hurst is technically a better volleyball player it seems like basketball really has her heart. Most of her socials are about basketball and she never posts anything about her volleyball recruiting.
Still have a really good feeling she’s the last piece of this class.
