He’s playing starting PG for Maryland, I wonder if that was his catch, I know at Belmont he played off ball a good amount, and that would’ve been the case here obviously. Wonder if he and his camp wanted him to get full time PG duties somewhere

If it passes, a starting lineup of Z (5th year senior) Gainey (5th year senior) Jahmai (5th year senior) Igor (5th year senior) and Felix (senior) would have to be one of the great defensive starting fives assembled on a college basketball team.

Possible. I'm just saying that the window of opportunity to get him was last offseason. If he wanted something Tennessee couldn't give him, then I get it. But if we pursue this spring, he will be expensive. If ZZ is able to return, it may not matter.

Do we have any idea yet if ZZ and others will get approval to stay one more year? I'd be curious which of the 4 seniors will 100% stay.

Igor would be 5th year (he's in his 4th year now), Felix would be Senior (He's a Junior this year)

But I agree it would be an intense group if we returned all of them.

Chaz and Dubar are both in their 5th years right now...so I don't think either would return or be eligible.

No, it's not been passed as of now.

I'd think all 4 eligible seniors would likely return, or transfer somewhere else to play their 5th year. Igor is the only one that I think may explore options (euro ball or transfer) only because he's not as attached to Tennessee as ZZ, Mashack, or Gainey.

Lanier and DD are both in their 5th year, so theoretically they are out of eligibility regardless.

Yeah, just depends on if Igor feels he will benefit more from a 2nd year with Barnes. He's still got some growing to do. There's certain games where it's all going for him and then others where he's making frustrating mistakes.

Gotta give him a good showing. Kentuckys defense has been very suspect this season, however their offense has been elite like it always is. If we play our game defensively and Chaz, Zakai, and Gainey are able to find some separation I can see us putting at least 80 points against the cats. I think it’ll be 80-68 or something like that.

Is Vanderbilt a real player with Mallory? I hope the January 31st visit is when we seal the deal with him. We need another elite undersized PG. How you feel about our chances with him BTO?

Not that I know of right now, just a caveat in this day and age. With the 5th year senior ruling still hanging out there along with scholarships going from 13-15 not yet determined there’s just lot of uncertainty with roster management. I don’t think a Zeigler return would change anything, and seemingly would be a best case scenario for both parties, but never know how Mallory side may feel.

Mallory would be a perfect heir to ZZ and could learn from him for a year before taking over. I always the double ball handlers we had with ZZ and Chandler

hate on me if you want. I would love for ZZ, Gainey, and Igor to come back, but I do not want shack back. Tired of guards sitting in the paint our entire half court sets because it's 4V5
