2026 recruiting

For fun, I would like to chime in again on this debate as someone who has watched both in person multiple times:

As a sophomore , Dangerfield played for the U.S. Under-16 national team, led her high school squad to a Class AAA championship and a No. 1 spot in a pair of national rankings and earned recognition as the state’s player of the year.

I’ll take sophomore CD any day over Hodge.
Imagine that
You take Danger and I'll take Hodges...oh,,,impossible for that to happen
duhh

Both were from the midsize TN sities,,,danger-mufreesboro..Hodges Knoxville area so they played against similar competition
from there you jump to AAU
The subject was HS
duhh

CD went to Blackman…in Murfreesboro. Since you know all, at least get your easy facts straight.

I know less than nothing about any of the high school players either with or without offers from Tennessee. But I do know that sometimes kids aren't offered because of questions about factors outside of basketball skills. Maybe a young person isn't showing any desire to perform well in the classroom. Or maybe a young person has shown signs of being uncoachable or having a temper or is selfish, etc. Maybe a young person's family is known to cause massive problems or is expecting special favors and the staff decides it's best to avoid that situation.

I'm NOT SAYING any of this applies to ANY PLAYER who hasn't received an offer despite so many people thinking she clearly deserves one. I'm just saying that there's always the possibility with any player that other factors besides playing ability could be the issue.
Sensitively thought out and well articulated. 👏 Those are some of the delicate realities about recruiting that (ideally) fans will never know.

Hodge is every bit the player Crystal was at this stage of her HS career..,,,and she still has two years to grow

better in fact

Soph season:
Dangerfield 14.3 pts...2.9 stl...2.7 reb...3.6 asst
Hodge 22.8 pts...4.9 stl...4.8 reb...3.4 asst

Look it up
She is definitely not as good as Dangerfield was. Crystal was such a great overall PG that affected the game the way it should be played. She could have easily averaged a lot more points if she wanted to be selfish. She was a complete team first player.

The first sentence was an opinion (an accurate one). Opinions are free to be had by all. But they are also accurate or inaccurate in most cases. The following sentences were facts. Dangerfield literally had the ability to choose to play at any college in the country. She was that level of good. An elite PG that could have called any program in the county and they would have accepted her commitment. That doesn't mean Hodge is not a great player. But she certainly does not have the options that Dangerfield did as far as college options available to her. And that is because the professionals (not wanna be online super-coaches, cough cough) don't see her as being on the same level as Dangerfield.

You're absolutely clueless if you think Hodge is better than Dangerfield. Crystal was on a top 3 team in the country with multiple other D1 kids. Dangerfield also had offers from every school in the country by the time her junior year rolled around.

you two are not considering a what point each player is/was at....Dangerfield had her pick when she graduated...Hodge is two years from that point.

At THIS stage, Hodge has better numbers and has multiple P5 offers already

only when Hodge is a graduating-Senior can a true conclusion be drawn

Sheesh,,,get a grip!

I can tell you that after her sophomore year of high school Dangerfield was already able to commit to basically any school she wanted.

not with those numbers,,,you are surmising,,I am quoting
big diff kiddo
What? I am stating a fact based on the fact that I am very familiar with her recruiting journey. Not guessing about anything. You think her 'stats' that you posted meant she was not recruited by every major program as a freshman and sophomore? Lol.

I think Coach is choking yer chicken, brother. Let’s give it a season. She’s still a yoot. A coach will always wanna see the best in prospects they may be personally assigned.

You’d be absolutely correct! CD was wanted by so many top programs at that point. Jumper only wants to promote Hodge because he “supposedly” coaches her, so therefore, she’s a top 10 prospect.

Of course, I'm going to promote any girl.I've had personal coaching contact with..... As do all coaches.

That doesn't take away from her skills and the abilities. Nor does it take away from the fact that she is pursued by P5 programs.

At this point I kinda hope she doesn't play here because she's gonna be under such scrutiny by people like you that I would rather see her compete against us

Players are under scrutiny anywhere they play. The great ones play through it and rise above.

We’ve got a huge fanbase compared to most wcbb. Why would a couple of idgits arguing about a rival player, fours/five years gone, seeking to make a comparison with a hs sophomore, drag you to this denial of the program?

Idgits may be a little strong. Closer to 💩 stirrers. 😉🤙🏼
