Now THAT's an offer list right there! That would be an elite recruit. All them not wrong.2026 Olivia Vukosa cuts list to 16 lucky programs . . .
Vukosa’s top 16 are Ohio State, Texas, UCLA, South Carolina, Tennessee, UConn, North Carolina, Miami, Notre Dame, Kentucky, Baylor, Iowa, LSU, Maryland, Louisville, and Virginia Tech.

Thanks for the tip. So she may even have more than she listed. Awesome.Saw her play recently as the 1st sub off the bench for the undefeated Double Dynasty team in the Overtime Select league led by team captains Mia and Mya Pauldo the elite TBC!
She has potential. Has the size. Still raw in some aspects of defense and protecting the paint. Not a traditional back to the basket post player.
I have never seen a list of 16 schools which I assume is under equal consideration so this is interesting.
I’m also well-informed enough with recruiting to know that a players Top “teams” list doesn’t include every major offer.
For example, if a player’s Top “teams” list includes five teams from the ACC does not mean they didn’t have a committable offer from a top SEC school. Recruiting 101.
Another piece of the puzzle.
If you get a chance tune in September 14th to the Overtime Select league playoffs where the elite backcourt of Mia and Mya Pauldo team captains of Double Dynasty are teammates of Olivia Vukosa their 1st sub off the bench!
She has potential and can become a strong post player with growth and overall development of her game particularly on defense.
Ummm, Vukosa is literally considered one of the top 2 or 3 prospects regardless of class by EVERY college coach and recruiting evaluator in the country. She led the FIBA U17 world championships in scoring and rebounding this summer by a wide margin and was also named top defensive player in the event. Those are the only 16 schools she is considering btw out of the many other offers from other schools she is not considering.Saw her play recently as the 1st sub off the bench for the undefeated Double Dynasty team in the Overtime Select league led by team captains Mia and Mya Pauldo the elite TBC!

I'll be watching. I see Deniya Prawl and Kate Harpring (in addition to Vukosa) also play on the DD team. Two of TN's other targets.
Exactly. Whoever gets Vulkosa is a step closer to a national championship. She is going to be that good. Her footwork in the post as only a sophomore is amazing. Christ the King has a reputation of developing super stars, i.e., Chamique Holdsclaw, Sue Bird, Tina Charles just to name a few. Thanks for the tip. So she may even have more than she listed. Awesome.
As far as as her potential, I think I'll take Dawn, Geno, Kim, Vic, Brenda, etc. word on that. A few centuries of experience there.
To paraphrase Meat Loaf, "Three out of four ain't bad".Exactly. Whoever gets Vulkosa is a step closer to a national championship. She is going to be that good. Vukosa is a rare true center. I’d say the best center in the 2025-27 classes other than Betts. She will be a great get for whoever lands her. But she isn’t a fit in what will likely be Tennessee’s system. She won’t ever be comfortable playing at that pace and pressing full court. Not a knock at all. Just not her style.Exactly. Tennessee's system ... """for this year"""Vukosa is a rare true center. I’d say the best center in the 2025-27 classes other than Betts. She will be a great get for whoever lands her. I don’t know if that is accurate…. Nolan Richardson might fit but his falling off was due to recruiting. Loyola- Marymount and the Runnin Rebels are two different teams. Loyola had an amazing year in 1990 but didn’t win the championship. The coach also left Loyola to go to the NBA to coach the Nuggets in 1991. The Runnin Rebels which were coached by Tarkanian won the championship. He dominated through 1992 when NCAA violations caused him to leave UNLV. He did resurface at Fresno State and had a decent run as their coach. Overall… In 31 years, Tark won 80% of his games.Tennessee's system ... """for this year"""
I have been in basketball for over 40 years and "a shot every 6-8 seconds" this is not a new or long-term strategy...
Arkansas 40 minutes of hell,,,the Loyala Marymount Runnin Rebels?
Loyala in 1989-90 they were the team to copy
Nat Champs in 90
then that "giddyup BB" got solved and they didn't make the tourney again until 98 (lost in the first round)
Yes get excited about year one,,,but if Coach Caldwell is a one-trick pony,,,=get ready for the bottom to fall out
What she does, works on the lower level basketball consistently bc the parity is in the middle, not the top and not the bottom...And SEC BB is definitely at the top
I truly hope she isn't going to put all of her cards in one game-style...In the SEC you have to be able to play every style of BB bc there a WILL BE every style of BB played against you.
There is a solve for every riddle
Boston Celtics would slow the game to a crawl when playing the "showtime" LA lakers...the same was done to Loyala M
As for the press defense,,,there is a golden rule in BB that has stood for years..."pressing teams hate to be pressed",,,I would press the hades out of Kim's team as an opponent and use 19 of the 20 second shot clock on every possession and frustrate the team and her....Pressing teams hate to be pressed bc that is what they see nearly every day they practice,,,the 2nd team pressing them and familiarity breeds contempt and always has
In basketball the winning combination,,,no matter how positionless people want it to be is:
-A big who can score deep and with their back to the basket
-A Forward who can intimidate and over-power on offense and stop penetrators at the top on D
-A skilled forward who can create their own shot and score on all four scoring-points(shoot 3's,,mid-range, drive, post-up)
-A long-range sniper
-a floor general who can read the floor, bring the ball down under pressure, (From there they either are another scorer or an assist-machine...you rarely see a PG who can do both equally)
-a 6th man who can come in and either defensively or offensively change the dynamics
-from there it is bench-depth
Truly I hope Coach Kim Caldwell is the answer UT has sought after since the Pat Summitt heydays...TRULY!
But I do have my concerns if she thinks the players/coaches she will face will be as limited as the ones she has faced prior
