'22 SC SF Julian Phillips (Tennessee commit)

Would need Bailey and one more to leave to take on BJ Edwards and Phillips. Fulk isn’t counting against the scholarship limit
I don’t think there’s a very good chance at all that Kennedy is here next year though

Technically, if Kennedy leaves, we still need one to leave to accommodate Phillips if he were to commit. B.J. is taking Kennedy's spot. We're full right now under the assumption Kennedy is leaving. So, if my numbers are right, to keep Kennedy and bring in B.J. Edwards and Julian Phillips we'd need Victor Bailey and two others to leave....

Maybe I’m confused, but I don’t think so? We’re full rn if Bailey leaves, and so we’d need to lose one more to fit Phillips
1 chandler
2 z
3 scov
4 powell
5 mashack
6 Q
7 bj
8 JJJ
9 ON
10 BHH
11 Aidoo
12 Uros
13 Tamba
14 Phillips (one over)

So Bailey and one other to leave

It’s not that hard. Edwards is expected to take the only spot when KC leaves. For every other player that is added (or if KC stays), then a spot must be freed up with somebody leaving.

Bailey, and Chandler is likely to leave. Who knows though, I like our chances with Phillips after the LSU situation.

I know. But, if it means potentially loading up for the best shot at a national title in Tennessee history, I'd be okay if JM,QD, or Tamba or someone explored options elsewhere. It would be too good of an opportunity to pass up to have Kennedy and Julian Philips here next year.

Obviously, the chances of both of those things happening are low. But, a man can dream. Dreams are all that are keeping me positive after the loss.

I don’t want to lose JM, QD, or Tamba. Those are all first year guys with high ceilings who will develop. Barnes is best with 3-4 year guys he can develop into TEAMS, rather than a bunch of 1 and dones. Those guys are the next wave.

Technically, we don't have room for Edwards, even, if everyone were to return.

rSR Victor Bailey (Covid add. year)
rSR Uros Plavsic
SR Josiah-Jordan James
SR Santiago Vescovi
SR Olivier Nkamhoua
rSO Justin Powell
SO Kennedy Chandler
SO Zakai Zeigler
SO Brandon Huntley-Hatfield
SO Jahmai Mashack
SO Jonas Aidoo
SO Quentin Diboundje
rFR Handje Tamba

Someone has to move on and the obvious option is Chandler. Victor Bailey may decide to move on, or perhaps spend his final year, elsewhere.
I think Chandler’s for sure on to greener and possibly JJJ. Bailey leaves and Diboundje may follow Schwarz.

Doubt Swartz is going to actively poach our players unless he’s already set on transferring, but considering he wasn’t very sought after, I’m sure he’ll stick it out for a few years.

JJJ isn’t going anywhere.

Well, someone is going to have to leave if we want to bring in Phillips. Or, if we want to bring in any new players. Our roster is full. I've never been super high on Tamba when we recruited him, but I understood why we did. So, if we lost Tamba and picked up Julian Phillips, I'd consider it a net win,

I've beat his drum all season, but if BHH still has attitude problems I'd trade him for Phillips.
I for sure would ORN.
Honestly anybody that's not ZZ, SV,JJJ, Aidoo I'd trade for Phillips. This is assuming KC doesn't come back and Edwards is locked into his spot.

I haven't seen anything from BHH to suggest he has attitude problems. I think there's a way higher chance BHH is a way more productive player as a soph than Phillips will be as a freshman as well.

He was big in his recruitment and an advocate. It wouldn’t be poaching. JJJ has options I’m sure he’ll vett.

That was just the story on him coming in. Work ethic I guess is a better way of putting it. If those persist through off season workouts I could see him leaving.
My main point being if Phillips comes in I know they have to, but someone we don't want to will leave.

I’d rather Powell move on. He’s a defensive liability and he can’t do the one thing he was brought in to do.

Exactly. If Barnes didn’t think he could reach him, he would’ve have wasted the time recruiting him, much less starting him down the stretch. I think BHH will be fine. He’s shown improvement, which must mean he’s working. He could break out next year.

You have to earn your minutes under Barnes. BHH finished the season as a starter- I'd imagine whatever work ethic issue that was reported was resolved, imo.

I could see ORN leaving before BHH. He may want to be the primary option somewhere.

BHH with a summer in our weight program is going to be a problem.

I honestly don’t see either leaving. ORN was starting to come around before the injury. And by all accounts, he’s a great teammate. That matters to Barnes.

Since most here know I don't think ORN is very good, I wasn't going to name him, but I could see him leaving as well. For the exact reason you mentioned.

I dont disagree, but I'm not sure if he would or we would do that to him since he doesn't have his transfer anymore. Imo if it does happen it will be someone who has their transfer left.

BHH clearly has taken hard coaching to heart and has improved many aspects of his game

He still needs to work on his shot selection and limit his turnovers but he showed he can play at this level.

Obviously there was issues with his work ethic beginning of the season. However, Barnes was able to get more potential out of him.

Powell would have to transfer down a level or sit out a year. Don’t see him doing that. Bailey can go anywhere as a grad transfer

ON was the most consistent inside guy all year and averaged 10 and 6 when he got hurt. ON was coming on & Id suspect he'd increased those averages if hed stayed healthy. Despite all the love for the younger guys, Tennessee didnt replace that with both BHH and Aidoo. I wish Aidoo had played more.

He needs to learn how to catch
