'22 SC SF Julian Phillips (Tennessee commit)

I would like to see what that Auburn fan who posted you in there little cartoon will post if Phillips commits to us😂

He’ll crawl back in his hole and won’t post anything. That or he’ll photoshop some moneybags into Rick Barnes hands and make a snarky comment about how we pay for play. The funny thing is there is a 100% chance he reads this comment since we know he stalks this board so I bet he makes that meme now 😂

I honestly would kind of like to see that meme😂

I'm curious how NIL deals for basketball players are structured, since players worth millions as unsigned recruits should likely only play for the team for 1 season, as opposed to football where guys have to stay 3 seasons. Are we really paying him 2 mil for one season, or is the deal setup to consider multiple seasons with a total value of 2 mil across multiple seasons?

Auburn On3 guy. I assume his gut take is Auburn because why would an Auburn guy say anything else? Anyone want to confirm?

"I'm just one guy, but if I'm making a prediction three hours before Julian Phillips' decision, I'm picking Tennessee.

As I mentioned in the morning reads, from talking to sources the last few days, Tennessee's NIL package is more than Auburn's. And even if Auburn raised their NIL package, Tennessee was going to do what it took to stay in front by a large margin in that race. Tennessee is desperate to land Phillips, they are more in need of Phillips than Auburn is next season, and Barnes needs to start making noise in the postseason.

I think Phillips will take the more lucrative deal. That's tough to turn down for your family.

If Phillips does indeed choose Auburn, at this moment, I'd be surprised. Because if he does, it won't be because Auburn put together a more lucrative NIL deal. It would be because he vibes with Auburn better, and that would carry a value to him. But again, I don't believe that will happen as of the time I'm typing this. "
