Nothing is stopping Assads buddy Putin from sending aid.
And the US has stated they will send aid directly to NGO’s already present working humanitarian aid in spite of the Syrian regime. But apparently that can only happen if the regime is involved? I mean I guess they’re free to tell the US thanks but no thanks. That’s fine.

Well deflecting to another government’s action to ignore the actions of the government being discussed sure is. Which is exactly what you did. You’re of course free to protest why you did it all day long.
Another government's actions? No I only commented on the actions of the US govt and the lies told to justify those actions

Nah I’m good thanks. And my comments are on point.
No they're dumb and lazy

The article states their reasoning which is clearly a lie based on decades of actual evidence. Someone points out the lie and you call it whataboutism? It's not even close and hopefully you're being this wrong on purpose

It’s patently whataboutism. The topic is the US won’t remove sanctions but will send aid in spite of the Syrian regime. You come in the with unrelated shot from the grassy knoll crying.

They claim they won't remove sanctions from a "government that has brutalized its people over the course of a dozen years now." It's an outright lie that the US govt gives 2 ***** about how a foreign govt treats its people. That's simply the recognized global truth not some made up whataboutism excuse you use to hide an ignorant claim.

Lol. Ok…

They’re sending aid in spite of the regime. The regime is of course free to block it I guess. 🤷‍♂️

Oh yeah, they're sending their aid to the moderate groups in Syria. Sounds familiar
They’re sending aid in spite of the regime. You’re free of course to engage on your own with the regime if you don’t like their response I guess?

Keep digging. You’re on the same side of this as Ras. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! 😂

Actually US sanctions would forbid that.

Good. What are you complaining about?
I googled it. They’re using their in place military personnel to help in the rescue effort. Which is good. They’ve claimed they will send more rescue people. No mention of goods or other aid of any kind.

I’d guess we’ve either got C-17’s in route or landing right now with emergency personnel and equipment in Turkey to augment what we already had at Incerlik and that will be crossing into Syria also.

Hey @utvolpj this isn’t what should be happening the Syrian government should just be working to try and get as much aid to their citizens in need as possible… right?

Syria accused of playing politics with aid in aftermath of earthquake | Turkey-Syria earthquake 2023 | The Guardian

Syria was accused of playing politics with aid after the Syrian ambassador to the UN, Bassam Sabbagh, said his country should be responsible for the delivery of all aid into Syria, including those areas not under Syrian government control.

The dispute over the control of the aid – along with the weather, destroyed roads and closed crossing points – is hampering aid efforts into northern Syria, which is held by rebel groups.
