No where else to put them. They are the last two loss team. The poll this week is simply a power-5 number of losses ranking. All the unbeaten ahead of the one loss teams, ahead of all the two loss teams, ahead of all the three loss teams. Not a lot of analysis put in by the voters.

For those who disagree with one another: since these rankings come down to voting, the fact that you are seeing people argue both ways on our board shows the subjective nature of how these rankings are determined. Sure some of it might be politics, but on our own forum we will see a more biased set of arguments in our favor than say the Alabama forum where it will be the other way around. The fact that not even all or most of us see it one way means neutral voters going the other way shouldn’t be a shock.

Amazingly, the majority in here seem to be arguing in favor of Bama and against Tennessee. We are the most ‘interesting’ fanbase in sports.

I think what we see in threads like this and others we often have is a strong argument that we should not bet on teams that we are also fans of.

Alabama being ranked ahead of us based on quality of losses vs quality of wins is laughable and "participation" trophyesque.

If you want to argue "Well, Tennessee lost by 25 to a bad South Carolina" ... well Alabama lost by 3 to the team that lost by 25 to a bad south carolina and lost by 1 to a team that got blown out by a team that lost by 25 to a bad south carolina.... If our loss to south carolina makes us not a quality team then that makes Alabama and lsu losses to us look like bad losses and thus makes Alabama have 2 really bad losses to our 1. Right?

Our wins are better. We won head to head. We should be ranked 1 ahead.

I mean, I want to be ranked ahead of Alabama, and the h2h is a good argument for it, I think.
But I get that the bad loss at SC will influence the voters, too.
Even if they're ranked ahead of us, it won't take away the feeling after that win.
