Its an interesting question: would the Trump base feel less outraged if they knew that the "Mormon group" involved here was an offshoot, polygamist group based in Mexico due to being so outside the mainstream?

I'm thinking there is a reason that Fox appears to be sanitizing it a bit.

They are the only true followers of Joseph Smith. The modern US version caved when the .gov told them that if they didn't knock off the polygamy stuff that their federal monies would be cut off. "Mainstream" depended on which way the money tree blew.

I don't know who in their right mind would want more than one wife yelling at you to begin with.

I have wondered if there was no confusion here and that this family was the intended target of the cartel.

Lol. Wtf does it matter?

In the end I guess it doesn't. It's just an observation. It just seems Foxnews is pushing the Mexico narrative and fanning outrage. Had this been a story about child abuse within the group I seriously doubt Fox would have called them a "faith-based community".

"Polygamy", "Mormon", and "Fundamentalist" would all have been the descriptors used by Fox and they are still just as accurate descriptors, even in this story.

What else should be pushed? Regardless who the victims are these cartels are animals, and that is even putting it mildly.

I don't think it matters. What is clearly evident is the brutality of these cartels.

This kind of violence happens all the time in Mexico but the media is silent about it. Since these were Americans affected is why the media is reporting it. I dont think faith has as much to do with it.

I don't think there would be any less outrage, and shouldn't be. These cartels are brutal criminals.

What should be changed is an accurate reporting of the facts, not whitewashing of them. These were Mormon fundamentalists. Period.

Just say so, and there is nothing wrong with it.

Shouldn’t everyone regardless of political leanings be outraged over women and children being gunned down?

No company will be able to obtain workers comp insurance if they openly hire drug users.

You’d be surprised how many employers including most school districts do not drug test post preemployment.

Maybe we the US should examine our archaic polygamy laws so people don’t need to leave the country in order to practice their religion.

If the practice is victimless and between consenting adults then I have no problem with this.

Yes but when something happens that’s the first thing done.

Right and that is what I wouldn’t want to see changed if drugs were legalized. I would continue being a drug free employer with randoms.

I know a guy that wasn’t drug tested before hiring He fell off a metal roof.
they wanted to drug test him after the fall. He refused. Stated one was not given when he was hired then one won’t be given just because he is now hurt and a liability.

He got 25k in the settlement for a bruised back.

Good luck hog.

It’s pretty standard policy to drug test after an accident. Workers comp typically won’t pay if you fail a drug test.
