Good to see someone from Cordova can at least add 24+2 properly. I'm impressed. Further, I wasn't trying to be humorous in the previous post. That's my honest assessment of the value of your opinion.

Are you forgetting that the Gators were on probation to start the 90's. Serious enough that they were not eligible for the SEC Title.

As is usual for Gator fans, he has his dates wrong. The Pell troubles broke in '84-'85. The probation in '90 was the result of conduct that was part Pell, part Galen Hall.

Doesn't it go back a bit further? Florida forfeited the SEC title in 1984 and they were again ineligible for the SEC title in 1990 for additional infractions. Either Spurrier cleaned up the program... or he was just so sly, that he didn't get caught?

The majority of the Pell stuff was uncovered during the investigation that led to his ouster. That was in '84. Then they were hit with probation for some residual findings from the Pell era and new violations under Galen Hall. You are correct in asserting that they committed violations after the infractions that led to the forfeiture of the '84 title and the '85 bowl ineligibilty.
