gonygonygo you seem like a randy sanders guy which is cool. like i said before the last 3 years we have not been fun to watch. the offense is painful to watch. i'll agree during the cutcliff years our defense stuggled some here and there. there have been a couple of seasons in there 2002- 2004 we didn't have the talent on defense. you give chavis the players he usually produces. i will say we have had some tackling issues that need to be addressed. you have to remember in 98 FSU made the championship game with there back up QB, we probably lose that game if weinke plays. the only thing i can say is before 01 i had hope for this team, now i'm not even sure if i will renew my season tickets. the last three years our team has been painful to watch. they are not exciting they are plain boring. who would have thought in 98 a couple of years down the road that tennessee football would be boring. blame the coaches.

An immobile QB like Weinke would have been annihilated by the '98 defense. Marcus Outzen only survived that game because he could run away from the pressure. Our D line completely manhandled FSU.

The main problem is too many formations..When a play is checked out of at the line the whole formation changes, too much moving around causing penalties.. When Cut was OC the offense was running 6 to 8 plays out of 1 formation..Look at what the Colts are doing basic formations. Do you think maybe took a little of that with him?

Most advanced offensive schemes use a plethora of formations. The offensive playbook is extremely complicated, which makes you very difficult to prepare for. But on the other hand, it takes intelligent players to execute the advanced gameplans.

The Colts are successful because they have a system that is compatible with their personel. They have arguably the leagues smartest quarterback.

I'm reaching for straws here, but maybe the offensive gameplan is too much for the players to comprehend, which may be the reason of the confusions and mistakes by the players.

Maybe true, but we are much closer to the other end of the spectrum, that being very predictable. For years, CPF has taken the approach of "our athletes are better than yours" without much regard to offensive creativity. That doesn't seem to work any more.
