I am not upset about the results against Oregon or Florida because I realize we don't have enough depth or talent to win those games. I am upset that I did not see our coordinators make in game adjustments when USA battled back and hit us in the mouth in the second half. What are we going to do when we do have the talent and a lead against the SEC big dogs and we start to lose that lead? I guess I really expected to see us take care of business better than we did against a subpar team. I'm not calling for the coach to be fired. I do believe the staff is responsible for almost letting that game escape our grasp. I believe CBJ will hold his coaches accountable just like he does his players. Deep down, after the third coaching change, I was really hoping we had a staff that knows how to get players in better position to make plays and put non-conference tune up games away.
why don't you enlighten me oh great one? The op's excuse was we dont have any 4 or 5 star talent. I think it is an appropriate question given that we barely escaped with a win don't you think?
What exactly is your point we have more talent and we won. That is the way it should work right.
The OP was stating that we have lost more 4 star players than other teams in the conference. Do you agree or disagree with that. He was not comparing our talent to South Alabama.
How many 4 and five star players does South Alabama have?
Most of the criticism has been in response to yesterday's game. The point is what was the excuse for barely pulling out a win against a team that shouldn't have even been on the same field as us?
To our players defense, the only reason why USA was still in the game against us is the difference in QB talent. The difference is 1 player. If I recall correctly, Worley threw 3 INT in the Red zone. The score would have been more like the WKU game if he hadn't thrown those. And this is not bashing Worley either. The guy is still adjusting. He has to learn a whole new system along with a bunch of freshmen receivers and two or three veterans (luckily we have two very capable running backs).
To say something like 'urr but how many 4* athletes does university of derp have compared to UT' is a statement of ignorance. By saying something like this and notably agreeing with a statement like this is ignoring the state of the program.
So let me get this straight... it's ok to make the comparison with teams we're expected to lose to but not to lesser teams we're expected to hammer? Just want to make sure I understand the formula here.
The only one's going off the deep end are the one's that go ballistic when someone is slightly critical of Butch. How many threads have been started saying it's time to fire Butch? Now how many of these excuses threads have popped up since yesterday?
I personally like Butch but I don't think he and his all star staff was ready for this stage. I realize he needs more time. I have seen improvement in a lot of areas. But I've also noticed things that caused concern.
I don't see it. The OP was making the typical "we don't have any talent left due to attrition" argument as an excuse for our poor play. I simply stated in a round about way that that excuse doesn't hold water in the South Alabama game.
i agree,CBJ and his coaches are going thru a learning curve too, they have to get used to coaching in the SEC in a hurry, which they should be able to

if you are too blind to see that we don't have the talent it takes to compete in the SEC week in and week out then no one can help you. Do you really think that Cody Blanc, Malik Foreman, Cameron Sutton, Brent Brewer, Justin Worley, Rajon Neal, and many other would see the field at UGA, UA, LSU, UF, or SC?
