I don't see it. The OP was making the typical "we don't have any talent left due to attrition" argument as an excuse for our poor play. I simply stated in a round about way that that excuse doesn't hold water in the South Alabama game.
if you are too blind to see that we don't have the talent it takes to compete in the SEC week in and week out then no one can help you. Do you really think that Cody Blanc, Malik Foreman, Cameron Sutton, Brent Brewer, Justin Worley, Rajon Neal, and many other would see the field at UGA, UA, LSU, UF, or SC?
Since 2010 Tennessee has signed 40 4 star players and 1 5 star players, a pretty good stat. However, of those 41 players only 24 remain on the roster and of those 24 there are zero 5 star players.
For comparison's sake, since 2010 UGA has signed 43 4 star players and 5 5 star players, again very good. However, and most telling, 42 remain on the roster including 4 5 star players. That is a difference of 18 players and if you think that doesn't make a difference you are greatly mistaken.
Just to add more fuel to the fire, since 2010 Alabama has signed 50 4 star players and 11 5 star players, exceptionally good. And again, most telling, 50 remain on the roster and of the 11 that no longer remain on the roster 7 were first round draft picks. That is a difference of 26 players.
Tom Landry couldn't win with those kind of odds stacked against him, continue with the Butch Jones bashing.
Find one post that I claimed we have the talent to compete with AL, FL, GA, or SC. I know the roster is depleted. It's my contention the roster is not as bad as we've been playing. I was hoping for a coach that would get more out of thevteam than it's individual parts. Frankly to this point I don't see it.
And you are not going to see it offensively until we have a QB who can effectively run the read option but you have to admit from last year to this year the defense has improved. When I say improved I mean the are at least lined up correctly and know who they are supposed to be covering.

How many 4 and five star players does South Alabama have?
I don't think we've seen enough to judge the defense yet. Are they better than last year? Well I should hope so. We haven't had a game against a powerful offense except OR and we all know how that turned out. The next three games will show us if we really have any sort of a defense.

You folks kill me.
If we would have won that game 50-10 yall would be sayin, "it was south alabama we were supposed to kill them."
We won. Were 3-2. What the he** did yall think our record was gonna be 5 games in? 5-0?
Go be miserable somewhere else.
Btw i realize we have some problems on the team but we do look better than last year and we actually finished a game.
i.e. didnt take a knee with a minute left in the game on the 40. Give up wide open td passes with the game on the line. Didnt have 13 on the field. Didnt quit
Should i keep going?

Just curious: how many 4 and 5 star players has University of Souhern Alabama signed/retained? If we have more than they do, doesn't that kinda throw water on your theory, since they played us even?
