A group of Board of Trustees lobbying for Old Fulmer group..

easy? He would, and did, get killed by the current list of SEC coaches. Getting Fulmer back into UT football in any capacity besides fundraising would be a miserable failure. Tell him to enjoy his checks from the AD and leave the coaching to others

What year did he finish 11th of 12 teams in the SEC?

We were NEVER this bad under Fulmer. Sorry your memory is so flawed as to have forgotten or distorted that.

If you don't want Fulmer, then pick someone who can move the program forward. Hint: It is NOT Dooley.

How about Sumlin?

We can't have threads of hope for this program unless they center on all the woes of Dooley.

Pretty sure Fulmer wouldn't make excuses about who left him with what and how he needs more time to fix it. He'd just get to work. 8 games this year... easy for him, a real stretch for Dooley.

This was a thread started by someone who saw Fulmer eating breakfast with other people. They all of the sudden turned into UT big wigs and talking about the current situation and getting his point of view. Come what part of this thread is not rediculous!

Keep telling yourself nobody would rather have Fulmer than Dooley. It's not me you're fooling.

my memory is not flawed but it appears yours is. Making claims like "Fulmer's teams never quit" doesn't help your credibility. Our roster was never this bad under Fulmer but of course he had a hand in it. Also if he was so much better why did a coach with 17 years at the same school have the exact same record as a 2nd year coach whose team is terrible? And please don't try and claim the schedule was harder

Sumlin went 5-7 last year and is riding one player through a terrible conf. No thanks

no one thinking clearly would want Fulmer no matter who the current coach happens to be

There you go. Making stuff up that I didn't say.

They did quit under Fulmer against Bama, one year as I recall. That's your speciality PJ (still not the 5 TD loss we had to... get this... Arkansas).

But they then recovered and went to the SEC
championship (that's closer to the top than the cellar of the conference, whatever criticisum you have of that outcome).

The question was simple... what year during Fulmer's tenure did UT finsh 11th of 12 teams in the SEC?

And don't be a fool on your comment about Fulmer having no support. That's either naive or misleading on your part.

you made the claim that Dooley's teams quit while lauding Fulmer. The way you wrote it made it quite obvious but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt

Fulmer went to the SECCG because it didn't matter that he got absolutely abused by our biggest rivals (one that was so bad UL-Monroe beat them) and got a favorable SECw rotation. Don't forget the previous year also included a complete beatdown by Arkansas

This should end this thread and this nonsense about Fulmer and the debate once and for all: His name has not been mentioned one time in any other coaching search this year...not once. If I am wrong, I will eat these electrons, but not once that I have seen or can find...

That should tell anyone all they need to know.

He was and is a TN legend. I like Fulmer. He is no doubt a great man. But his time has come and gone. He let the program crash and burn. He was shown the door as he should have been.

Let's remember him for the good, and fix the bad he left behind.

Fulmer made the excuse of needing time to fix and turn around the mess he got himself in. Go back and watch his last interview as coach and a few after that. He states, he thought he would have more time to fix it.

And, then what happened on the field?

He took UT to the 'next level'.

If I were you, I suggest sticking to the post 2001 criticisms of CPF's record.

Even then, my turning point against CPF was the UCLA game he lost during his last year. But, I'd guess that team was about 3 TD's better with that staff than was the team the we fielded this season.

So, that's where CPF left off for me... about 3TD better than now and I was ready to see him go... with a record of success that Dooley does NOT have as an HFC (at UT or elsewhere... he sucked at LA Tech).

Seriously??? If you're not distorting the message through attenuation, I don't know what is.

You've done that a dozen or more time to my posts. I call you on it, but you continue to repeat that behavior. I'm not sure how that builds traffic to the site or what you hope to accomplish, but it gets annoying, and seems a bit unprofessional as a behavior for mods on a site.

Still, I don't blame you for having an agenda and passion for UT football. Just... keep it real, okay?

I was talking about this one chief. You quoted the post showing the numerous accomplishments of Fulmer (some made up but that's ok) so the association was there. Like I said, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt whether you intended it or not

Dooley couldn't do this with Saban as his DC and Meyer as his OC. The team would still quit.

and you still don't get the mod stuff do you? I was asked to help keep the board clean and ban Chinese WoW gold spammers but was never asked to make you feel good about your ridiculous agenda. If you have an issue take it up with freak

That one has nothing like your quote either.

Why would I take it up with Freak? I'm taking it up with you, buddy.:eek:k:

because maybe he can explain it better so you actually understand. Based on your criticism it looks like I'm doing a poor job as a teacher

The biggest flaw that a lot of posters on here make when they compare CDD to CPF as a coach and where CPF had us in the conference ranking is BS. Fulmer was a good recruiter and had been recruiting for years before ever taking over the team so there was no dumpster fire for him to start with.

It's ironic how when CJM took over the program it was about as bad of shape when CDD did, if memory recalls it took CJM and CPF to get the program headed back in the right direction but don't let facts mess up your agenda and opinion of the current staff

I think you're doing a great job. You even gave me a new word a while back (Bolded) I use this word as ofter as I can.
I would like you to, if it is within your authority, merge this crap with the other Foolmer thread. I will even say please.

Please?

Maybe you're not cut out to be a teacher. Perhaps that's not a mods job, but I do learn from all of you guys... just not much from the message distortion efforts or the reframing of my own realities. I pretty much know how I feel and how I've felt over the years. It''s going to be hard for you to distort those realities without me noticiing.

Moreover, I pretty much post those views here... so there is a record of them, if you really care to pretend I don't know my own realities.

Most of the stuff here is opinion. They are going to differ. That's the nature of a sports site.

When I really need to get educated, I look up LWS and Justin's posts--and some others who have opinions like yours that differ from mine, but, at least, for most of them, there are a few points of agreement. You seem pretty stuck on my support of Fulmer that simply coincided with that of most of the major donors (up to the final season with UCLA being a bit of a turning point). But, the concept was always to replace him with someone better... it was never to hire someone as weak at coaching as is Dooley. Again, jmo, on the last point, but a strong o in the 'jmo' part. :hi:

A friend of mine in ADs office has indicated that a group of board of trustees and some big donors are lobbying for one more shot at Fulmer group..they want Fulmer, Chavis along with some big shot OC..(if not Cutcliffe)..Hart is said to be against this idea..he isn't willing to take any such back step and also is willing to give Dooley few more years..interestingly Hart likes both our OC and DC...It will be interesting to see how much longer he can handle that pressure from so called "influencial" group...!!!

If that is true, no wonder we are having so many problems t the University.

Hey mods (pj), is there a limit on the number of people we can put on ignore?

Because I'm filling up fast.

I don't believe there is but you lose some of the entertainment value by using the ignore function IMO

I guess, but so many people quote ignored posts that I wind up seeing them anyway. :)

Sure does make some threads go faster, though.

If you will recall, Fulmer was offered the job when Kiffen left and he turned it down. So you can put this ridiculous thread to bed. It's absolutely false not true unfounded BS or anyother adjective that describes this as fiction

wow I don't remember that at all
