A group of Board of Trustees lobbying for Old Fulmer group..

A friend of mine in ADs office has indicated that a group of board of trustees and some big donors are lobbying for one more shot at Fulmer group..they want Fulmer, Chavis along with some big shot OC..(if not Cutcliffe)..Hart is said to be against this idea..he isn't willing to take any such back step and also is willing to give Dooley few more years..interestingly Hart likes both our OC and DC...It will be interesting to see how much longer he can handle that pressure from so called "influencial" group...!!!

I'm wondering if this lobbying group is made up primarily of Jimmy Sexton.

Oh yeah, Cutcliffe would drop his HC job to be OC because WE ARE TENNESSEE. P.S., Duke loves Coach Cut so no,he is not about to be fired.

Hey its worked ok for Kansas St. not so sure it happens here though

Totally different scenario with Snyder. So different that it's laughable to compare them.

I swear if this turns out to be the case, and somehow against all reason they rehire Fulmer, I'm turning in my Vol card. I appreciate what the man accomplished, but he needed to go. Maybe not the way it happened - but nonetheless it had to be done (a couple of years too late IMO). I was born and bred a Vol fan, have two degrees from UT, and thought I'd die a Vol but I can't believe anyone with any sense is actually considering this.

What our fan base needs……is for the Smokey Dogs and the Petros at TBA and Neyland, to be spiked with Lithium….we’re completely schizo and/or bi-polar.

the only way fulmer can come back as HC is Peyton as OC but im all for Chavis coming back

I heard another board of trustees faction that were lobbying for Bill Battle to come back. TIFWIW

we would be the laughing stock of college football (if we aren't already) if we rehired the coaching staff that we fired three seasons ago. horrible, horrible idea, shut these morons up.

Eating breakfast at MiMis and Fulmer is here with some boosters. They are obviously talking seriously...

Now, I don't think there is a chance in hell of him coming back but I bet they want his opinion on things going on.

I'd go talk to him, but they look pretty occupied.

He'd do a whole lot better this fall than the current staff can.

I was all for moving forward, but not backwards... and that's clearly the direction we moved post-Fulmer.

At this point, CPF would be a shot of optimism.

Sorry for stating the truth!

Perk up those ears.

Mimi's has some good food. I wouldn't leave that place w/o a blueberry muffin.

Since you know these guys are big boosters. Which ones are they. Cause there is no way he is having a business meeting with his current job. Come on man get real. You have no clue who he is eating with and you just decide to say he is meeting with big boosters and talking seriously about what is going on with the program. Get real. Just another thread that has no credibility just to stir more stuff up.

I'm sure coach Fulmer talks with boosters all the time.

He did make some friends in knox over the last 30 years.

This is the kind of thread I needed to read to start my day. Did you observe their table? Did you see Bibles? Maybe Fulmer has a weekly Bible study with boosters. Makes about as much sense as the OP.

We can't have threads of hope for this program unless they center on all the woes of Dooley.

Pretty sure Fulmer wouldn't make excuses about who left him with what and how he needs more time to fix it. He'd just get to work. 8 games this year... easy for him, a real stretch for Dooley.

Lol. Proven head coach huh?

1. Even with Fulmers awful final years he stands at 152-52 wins vs losses. That's a ratio of .745 which ranks among the highest winning coaches in football.

2. Awards include:

AFCA Coach of the Year (1998)
Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year (1998)
George Munger Award (1998)
Home Depot Coach of the Year Award (1998)
Sporting News College Football COY (1998)
SEC Coach of the Year (1998)

3. Championships and Titles:

1 National Championship (1998)
2 SEC Championships (1997, 1998)
6 SEC Eastern Division Titles (1997, 1998, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2007)

Sorry, but that seems pretty "Proven" to me. And, it's a successful coach that WANTS to be at Tennessee.

Not saying he's the right choice, but please don't make a post claiming he hasn't proven himself. Thanks.

Dooley couldn't do this with Saban as his DC and Meyer as his OC. The team would still quit.

The bold part is funny.

easy? He would, and did, get killed by the current list of SEC coaches. Getting Fulmer back into UT football in any capacity besides fundraising would be a miserable failure. Tell him to enjoy his checks from the AD and leave the coaching to others
