A little bit of calculations concerning Basillios article

Both are well coached football teams with good athletes, and both could handle AF, Vandy or UK quite easily.

Memphis and Marshall could handle Vandy quite easily. Both Kentucky and AF are considered more talented for 2006.

When I factor the coaching staff into the equation I think that adds an intangible element that CPF does not deal very well with. I watch UK pretty closely and they are not ready for primetime. Air Force, being a service academy does not have the athletes that Marshall and Memphis have. When and if they win, it is because they run an option offense that is hard to defend if you don't see it often, but not serviceable for SEC play. The ends and backers are too fast.

All I'm saying is that most publications have Air Force and Kentucky as more talented teams. I'm not really talking about who will give CPF and UT a tougher game, as Memphis ALWAYS does, and Marshall seems to play well against us.

Agreed. That is exactly why Air Force, Vandy, and UK are the only guaranteed wins on UT's schedule next year.

In a very roundabout way, we got where we needed to be in this discussion. :D

I think the major difference between hat's viewpoint and orangesquare's viewpoint is not the view, but the reason WHY they have different expectations. I assume (and could be wrong) that OS doesn't donate money to the athletic program every year. If I am wrong, then I'm way off base here, and I mean no offense.

If I were to invest thousands of dollars a year to a product, I'd expect to have higher expectations than someone who doesn't.

You know this is not the first time that I have noticed a post about hats donations or others donations to the program. And while I am sure that these donations are appreciated, I dont feel thats hats or any others opinion on here is any greater than mine because of those donations. In the fact that I work a 50 hour a week, back breaking job, and if I want to go support my team, I will put in a couple 80 hour weeks to be able to afford to goto the game. If you have that money to donate, that is great. But I am personnally tired of reading the same old crap in every thread. I would love to see freak add a post that is dedicated to you guys whining your points to each other. I come on this board, because typically you can find news on here. Go Vols!!! 2006 NC then everyone is happy.

A) Show me where I personally have whined.

B) I didn't say hat's opinion was better than anyone's

I NEVER SAID THAT

I *CLEARLY* stated that hat's and Square's viewpoints *might* be DIFFERENT because of the donations. See how that is completely different than saying hat's opinion/viewpoint is greater?

C) I feel you on the long work works. It sucks.

D) Go Vols!

Alabama, Arkansas, UF, and UGA...definite wins in 2006.

Really?

As Cypress Hill said it best: Let me have a hit of what you're smokin'.

After last season, the only DEFINITE win we have on our schedule is the Orange and White game. If you're not sure, ask the Division-2 school 2 hours to the west. Not downing the Vols, I just need a little verification ala the first 3 games that we've done something to right the ship.

Yeah, thats true, but I am praying in my heart that '05 was just negative variance (bad luck). I would bet my savings that we beat Vandy, Kentucky, AF, Memphis, and Marshall. Will I? No. However, for the purposes of my articles (like my Vandy preview on the front page of this very nice site, shameless plug says what?), I like for sure wins.
