A new reason to hate Gary Danielson...

Do we think he makes that comment next week when our game is at Bama? I'm guessing no.
No - next week his comment will be something along the lines of "Tennessee has to come into one of the loudest, most hostile environments in all of football."...he's crap.

People here in B1G land are already asking if there's any way CBS will replace him when they start airing games next season...HAHAHAA

Home field advantage also depends on the opponent. For example how many times have they played on the road in front of large noisy crowds. Are they use to playing in the humidity/temperature that they will likely encounter at Neyland, is it a day game or night game, etc.. Against some teams our home field advantage might be just 2-3 points and against other teams it might be 4-5 points or more.

Next UT game he announces, they should take away his booth and set up a table for him down on the field and see if he still feels that way.
Ask him to broadcast from field level and see if he changes his mind.

Well, if Neyland is on par with LSU and The Swamp, I'm good with that. Ole Miss??? not so much. I like Danielson as an analyst.

That is what gets lost in all of this. Danielson knows football and does a good job breaking down the game. With that being said, I would absolutely love it if the Vols whipped the aggies bad enough to make Gary comment on the noise from the crowd. I have been to some good SEC venues but Neyland is a different type of loud if the fans are fired up.

LOL

All he is saying is that all stadiums have volume problems for visiting teams. Its something I've seen many times at other venues. Auburn 1990 was one of the loudest, maybe the loudest as it is hard to prove, as any game I've ever attended. I've been to LSU, Georgia, Alabama, Florida. lots of places and it is LOUD. Affects the play of visiting teams and I've seen Tennessee impacted many times by crowds on the road. Even Vanderbilt in 1982 was loud enough to be a factor. Example is the false start penalties Tennessee had at Florida this year, crowd made an impact.

that's all he is saying.

Now how good a team is always determines if the home crowd is going to be loud and into the game or not. If your team is crappy, then fans are not as likely to be an influence on the game. Its all relative.

What a clown. I have always felt he got a little of a raw deal on here - until now. What a ridiculous, asinine comment. He might as well have said there's no difference between the 49ers and the Broncos.

We may or may not have a great season; one thing that equivocally cannot be said is that most any other SEC stadium is just as loud as ours, or just as much of an advantage.

There's opinion and subjectivity, and then there's just saying something so mindless that it's an obvious lie that wastes the time of anyone who reads or hears it.

Gary may be a little chaffed at the resurrection of the Tennessee Tuxedo Guy story and the part he played in getting him on the field. Yes, Gary, you were played.

Danielson is a Big 10 homer at heart. Always has been always will be. Once you've integrated that into a few of your brain cells most all of his comments, slants, and biases he produces begin to come clear. LOL course to him there's nothing special about Neyland, it's just a stadium with a football field within it. I'm sick of Big 10 people being assigned and making their daily bread on the backs of SEC schools and their athletes. It's like the SEC cannot produce pundits and commentators so they must have to go to Yankee land to get talent. $#@& 'em!
