A new reason to hate Gary Danielson...

LOL

All he is saying is that all stadiums have volume problems for visiting teams. Its something I've seen many times at other venues. Auburn 1990 was one of the loudest, maybe the loudest as it is hard to prove, as any game I've ever attended. I've been to LSU, Georgia, Alabama, Florida. lots of places and it is LOUD. Affects the play of visiting teams and I've seen Tennessee impacted many times by crowds on the road. Even Vanderbilt in 1982 was loud enough to be a factor. Example is the false start penalties Tennessee had at Florida this year, crowd made an impact.

that's all he is saying.

Now how good a team is always determines if the home crowd is going to be loud and into the game or not. If your team is crappy, then fans are not as likely to be an influence on the game. Its all relative.
He is a pompous arse. That is all I am saying!!!!! GBO

If we can checkerboard Neyland stadium then we should definitely be able to pull off a FU Gary chant during the game. To all those in attendance please make this happen.

Boy does this light a fire under my already yelling a**. maybe we get a F Gary chant so everyone at home can hear on the broadcast. 😂
Just stay loud and classy! No reason to get him sympathy and make us look bad. Just show him we are truly loud and loyal fan base. Maybe chant goodbye Gary at the end of the game!!!! Go Vols and Goodbye Gary!!!!! This makes us look a lot better!!!!! GBO!!!! Goodbye Gary sounds right!!!!!😆

Goodbye Gary! This is the ultimate type of get back and exactly the type of subtle passive aggressive comment that he makes toward not only us but others sometimes. Goodbye Gary!!!!!! Would be pure gold to salt the game away and the last few minutes all you hear is Go Big Orange and Goodbye Gary!!!! GBO

Listening to him deep throat Tebow for four years was awful. He's a clown and I hope our crowd blows his ear drums out come Saturday.

Tebow won two national titles. When you win titles, analysts sing your praises. It's always worked that, in every sport, at ever level. Vol fans always pissed at somebody for silly reasons.

Danielson: "I don't know if .... "

Darlington: "Boy was I wrong. The noise was a constant, oppressive force. I could literally feel it on my skin. It was every. single. play.”

2016

Darlington visited Tennessee’s Neyland Stadium during his time as a player at Oklahoma. Here’s what he had to say about it.

“I was never a big believer in homefield advantage,” he wrote. “I scoffed at the notion that a fan could actually have an impact on a football game. You have a hostile crowd? Good. I feed off of hostile crowds, and I embrace it when fans ridicule me. You think you’re loud? Whatever.

Your homefield advantage is incredibly overrated. Bring it on. You’re wasting your breath.”

Then, he felt Neyland Stadium get under his skin. Literally.

“And then I ran out of the tunnel in Knoxville, Tennessee, FOR WARMUP and was greeted by thousands of screaming fans and the chorus of ‘Rocky Top,’ Darlington said. “The game wasn’t set to start for over an hour, and these people seemed to think it was kickoff time.

“What followed in the 4 quarters and 2 overtimes of play was a dissertation on the impact a crowd CAN have upon a football game. The Vol faithful made it absolutely impossible to communicate. On the first drive, we had to change our snap count, because even our silent count was ineffective against that wall of noise.

Boy was I wrong. The noise was a constant, oppressive force. I could literally feel it on my skin. But these fans weren’t just loud on the first drive. Or just on 3rd down. Or just in the fourth quarter. It was every. single. play.”

I understand that when you win like Tebow did that of course the talk will be overly positive. Gary would go on about how handsome and good looking Tebow was. Give me a break. And the clown part is referencing how often Danielson just says nonsensical things. If hoping Neyland is so loud he rethinks his comments about Neyland being just like every other stadium in the SEC then I guess I am just another Vol fan being "pissed for a silly reason."

Funny, but I was just saying recently that Danielson hasn't been nearly as bad with Nessler as he was with the bloated d-bag Lundquist.

Looks like I need to amend that comment.

He also had this to say regarding Milton and our offense. Hope we light them up Saturday and Squirrel White has Texas A&M "shaking in their boots"

“I’m not critical, but I thought I would get more (from Milton),” Danielson told Knox News. “It’s not just Joe, though. This team doesn’t have the firepower at wide receiver that they had a year ago. So it’s a different looking process. And because of that, everything looks a little harder."
“I think it remains to be seen. So far they haven’t,” Danielson said. “You’ve got to have a receiver they feel is a mismatch. Who is that for Tennessee? They’ve got a lot of good receivers. Right now, they don’t have a mismatch – you know, where the corner is shaking in his boots at the snap.

“But there’s an opportunity for someone to emerge. We’ll see what happens and who it is for Tennessee.”

“This offense works well when the quarterback is making and processing quick decisions and attacking,” Danielson said. “And so far against comparable talent, it seems to be a tenth of a second slower than what Josh Heupel would like.”

Listen, I don't like Danielson at all, but let's be honest - that isn't a completely inaccurate analysis of our passing offense so far this season. We need one of these WR's to step up as a legit deep threat, and we need Joe to be a little better at those seam throws and making decisions where to go with the ball. He's gotten better, but there is still room to improve the pace and efficiency of the offense.
