A Racist Take On Our New Coach

I am so so glad that Wade Houston was our coach. He can secure us some good prospects from the Memphis area. With all of his experience at Lousiville with Denny Crum, it will be good. Also, his son will be a good player for us. I think Doug Dickey made an excellent hire!!!!!

I love how Tennessee is still on your mind.

So much that you felt the need to sign up and post.

You make a lot of sense... hypocrite.

I signed up so that I could be eligible for the amazon gift card :)

I used to live in Knoxville and have lots of friends that are UT fans so yes I like to keep up with what you guys are doing and hopefully can engage in civil conversations with you guys, but I don't go on catpause and bring up Pearl cheating or anything related to you guys. I've silently followed this board for over a year and have been amazed by how much vol fans bring us up in posts that have nothing to do with us.

There's a big difference in being knowledgeable of what another program is doing and going on to my own team's forum and constantly bringing up another team up.

Another funny thing I've noticed from afar...It's amazing how many people worship Hat's posts. I agree with most of the things that he posts, but damn....How'd he become so loved?

Last time I looked Coach K, Roy Williams, Callipari, Calhoun, Boeheim, .... were all Caucasian Americans (per Heather Harrington) that get pretty good players of all races.

I bet the Vols come up 5X as frequently on a UK football forum as the Cats do on a UT b-ball.

I also think that Tubby Smith didn't recruit well at KY of all places. I could recruit there and, yeah, I'm white.

That's weird. There's enough good players of all races so that multiple teams can have good players? Whoulda thunkit?

Wade Houston was here because of his son. Pure and simple. Like Press Maravich coached LSU because of Pete. Bruce Pearl coached at UT because of his....wait a minute.

I'm white, and I suck so bad at basketball it's not even funny. So, take my opinion with as much salt as you see fit. I think that his race will have a minimal impact on how recruits relate to him. His story of upbringing and his success, however, will be something that many of the young black athletes will relate to and will want to mimic.

Players want a fast track to the NBA.

+1 white, black, Hispanic or even Jewish :eek:hmy: they want their best route period. Plus views on whites and blacks is nothing like it was back in the day. People could care less about color IMO

Terry Fair said that it still matters. I think his outlook is a bit more realistic than your's or mine.

What did Terry fair say? I wouldn't say his outlook is more realistic because I go to the largest church in TN which is black 25000 members, they could care less about color.

Terry said on his show that he can be a coach that some players will respect as a father figure because he's black. That hasn't changed.

I think your church is irrelevant. No offense, but the only color churches care about is green.
