MHFail logic: the right thing for Craft to do was to sacrifice his eligibility by lying to cover for a coach for whom he wasn't even playing. Lolz.

Do some research on Bruce Pearl. Even if Craft had a vendetta and planned to snitch, it's not even remotely close to the classless garbage Pearl has pulled.

Craft didn't rat anyone out. All he did was tell the truth when asked. It's not like he secretly taped Pearl admitting to lying about the cookout.

This is such an ignorant comment and why people make fun of Tennessee fans. Bruce Pearl started this whole mess 20 years ago when he essentially did the same thing to Illinois.
What goes around comes around and when you cheat as much as he had you were bound to get turned in at some point. He lied. He deserved to get fired for the 10,000X let it go dude. Don't be a Bobby Maze. This is all on Pearl no one else

Who said I was taking up for Pearl? The guy lied and put UT in a situation where they had to can him. I liked him and wish he were still our coach, but I'm not gonna argue against him getting canned for throwin' the big F-You at the AA'.

Every coach who wins and recruits well has dirt. It's part of the game. This "classless garbage" you speak of happens at every major program. Some worse than others (i.e. Auburn, USC, etc)

They will. I believe Tressel should be fired also. I'm not a hypocritical fan like some. What he did was worse than Pearl. He just didnt get/Hasn't got caught committing more violations.

Hmm....What's your take on the whole Tressell thing then? Didn't more come out today? You might want to run along and tend to that.

But to the OP's post. I can't stand Kentucky and I found myself wanting them to win this game. Craft is a hellava player but I wanted him, his coach, and his teammates to lose just because they are OSU.

Wow. I know It's bad at Ohio State. If you would read my last post, I said Tressel needs to be fired also. Atleast Ohio State's players never quit on their coach or school.

I agree that this is all on Pearl. 100% his fault but for the record, a LOT of people make fun of Ohio State fans and there are many reasons. Don't throw barbs like "why people make fun of Tennessee fans" around on a Tennessee board like you speak for the rest of the country. You live in Powell, TN for crying out loud. Not like you have your finger on the pulse of the nation...

There's a giant yawning gap between the amount of trouble Pearl should have got into over the Craft thing and what actually ended up happening to him. And every bit of that of that difference is his own damn fault.

I agree with you MHF... I, for one reason or another, really enjoyed watching Craft struggle and OSU lose.

When OSU and Kensucky play each other, it is a win/win situation for me. I hate them both.

Thad Matta (the living Penguin Man formerly played by Danny Devito) was not able to bite Pearl's nose off after his POS team lost to TN.

He did not accept that we were already owed a victory based on Oden playing illegally while bleeding in the year they beat our better team.

The head of the NCAA selection committee is the AD for the cheating and lying Suckeyes, and they gave the number 1 overall seed to his team.

After losing, Matta slithered over to Craft and asked him if he had any dirt on Craft. After claiming to be in the Vol family, and then betraying the man who recognized his talent first (while Matta was still not sure), Bruce Pearl, Craft offered up the only dirt he had which was a minor violation that he turned over photos of.

That is low down. Aaron Craft is a snitch.

By the way, Pearl put in a year of his life to get a player as a young man who he was told was purchased by another coach for $$$$. That happened. If you were trying to do your job in the rules and someone else screwed you royally by breaking the rules flagrantly I cannot say I would not take them down and leave their career in flames. The cheater at Illinois (even though they could not prove it definitively) never got a major job because everyone knew he did it.

Pearl's big crime? He beat lots of people and he was boisterous. He also was a miserable failure in terms of his personal life and conduct. In terms of basketball? He broke a couple of minor rules. He angered big recruits, one of whom had been promised money and who got very upset when he realized that promise was not going to be fulfilled by Pearl. Finally he had a cookout where his committed players wanted to come even though they were not allowed. Wow. Huge competitive advantage conferred.

I do think that lying in one area of life bleeds over to lying in others. Becoming a person who tells the truth all of the time is hard.

All of that said, Aaron Craft is a snitch and a traitor and I enjoyed watching Knight nail the game winner right in his face.

Yeah good point considering they haven't heard that crap all season long. Ive got a good feeling they won't have to though but we will see. Remember your post at season's end if they say that Tressel is gone the day before their last game.
