I enjoyed watching the kid play. Reality is OSU was his homestate school and it was an easy choice for him to go their with his aau buds once they offered late. He can't be blamed for BPs lies

I love blaming 17 year old kids for a 50 year old man's problem.

It's like blaming the teenager who is abused by his father because he made a C on his report card, or blaming the wife for the husband cheating on her because she gained 5 pounds.

Have not seen it written...

Has it been confirmed that Forbes lied first? I cannot imagine another reason that Pearl would have lied about a minor violation. If he was trying to protect an asst from the fate of the guys who Calhoun (who is a liar and who lied to the NCAA) threw under the bus then it makes some sense.

I have never defended Pearl's personal life. It is a huge disappointment.
I also have never defended Pearl lying to the NCAA. He took a minor problem and made it a major one.

Does not change the fact that the guy who lit the match of our troubles is Thad Matta with some kindling provided by Craft. We were on Craft so early, and poured so much into him.

Some racist called into Sportstalk the show that Terry Fair has on 100.3 and asked why TN does not recruit more white players. If Bruce Pearl had not recruited Craft, he would be the coach at UT today.

yes tradition. For us fans who have only been alive for 18 years. The tradition we have seen has the Buckeyes leading 11-7. Trust me, as an 18 year old you really could care less what happened before 90's.

How'd the questioning come about in the first place then? I've got three guesses: Aaron Craft, Mr. Craft or Thad Matta. Guarantee I'm pretty close. FTR, I can't stand Pearl and never have. Pearl deserves what he's getting and I'm glad we had the balls to cut him loose.

If indeed Pearl just lied because he was brazen and felt invincible then the Icarus comparisons are valid.

He is still young enough that this will not be his final turn.

Bruce Pearl will be Steve Lavin. He will have 2 years on ESPN, during which he will rehab and then grow his brand and profile and relationship with players who do not screw him like Craft and Selby.

His wife will want him to take a job close enough to here that she will be around her family plenty.

Ultimate hilarity would be if 2 years from now, Hamilton and Pearl are at Clemson.

Michigan fan...wow.

So yeah Bruce will definitely have a BCS job in two years.

If you think he will be in the wilderness longer you are just incorrect.

His brand as a promoter will be bigger in 2 years than it was last year (and it was big).

He will mend some fences as schadenfreude fades for some in the fraternity.

He will also be all over the AAU circuit and will know more coaches and more players than he ever could legally visit with as a coach.

Again, for a path for Bruce's life, just look at Steve Lavin.
