Michigan fan...wow.

So yeah Bruce will definitely have a BCS job in two years.

If you think he will be in the wilderness longer you are just incorrect.

His brand as a promoter will be bigger in 2 years than it was last year (and it was big).

He will mend some fences as schadenfreude fades for some in the fraternity.

He will also be all over the AAU circuit and will know more coaches and more players than he ever could legally visit with as a coach.

Again, for a path for Bruce's life, just look at Steve Lavin.

Pretty sure Lavin was out of coaching A LOT longer than two years. And he didn't have Bruce's issue of being a pathological liar.

The rest of this post is typical fail on your part.

1) Half my family is from Michigan. Is there an issue?

2) Name one coach who is coaching right now that was issued a show clause that is coaching a BCS program.

3) His brand is someone who can't stop getting in trouble despite multiple chances.

4) It won't matter if he mends fences in the coaching fraterninty. That isn't going to help him.

5) Steve Lavin was never shown a show clause. How the hell is this situation comparable to Steve Lavin?

Then will you leave us alone and be a Clemson fan?

even if he remains a UT fan, we won't hear from him. Most of his free time will be spent deciding whether to cheer for the Gators or Seminoles

Let's say you are right MHF, and give you a theoretical. You are representing a law breaker who commits perjury in the course of a trial. Is it his fault he lied, or is it the fault of a witness?

Whatever happened to "a snitch is a snitch?"

Pearl did it and paid a very heavy price. Craft does it, and it's not his fault?

That's just as uneven as the Pearlophiles who think what Bruce did was OK yet what Craft did wasn't.

You are working from the assumption that Craft turned him in, and there is absolutely no proof that it happened like that. What is more likely (and the story that came from Craft's father) is that Craft was asked by the compliance office about the picture and he rightly told the OSU compliance office and maybe the 'AA that it was at Pearl's house. Are we supposed to hate the kid for telling them the truth?

Not taking up for Pearl, but, if having Craft at his house for a BBQ was a violation then why didnt the NCAA punish the dude (Craft) for committing a violation too?

I would suggest 2 reasons. 1. Bruce Pearl is a 50 year old head coach. 2. Aaron Craft didn't lie about it(Dez Bryant having lunch with Deion was no big thing, but he lied to AA about it, Craft wasn't AA athlete at this point either so slight diff I suppose)

Pearl fan, or no Pearl fan...

Who takes up for a school who ratted us out? If people on this board HONESTLY believe that what Pearl did doesn't happen regularly at every big school in the country, you're living in a dream world. What Pearl did wrong, was lied. That's what got him canned. That's on him. But how do you guys justify throwin' flames at someone on this board because they are happy the guys who ratted us out just got bounced?

Backwoods Vol fans make no sense sometimes.

Not only that. Aside from everything else Craft committed to us and then pulled his commitment. If someone did that to us in Football they would be hated on for life. Also, we would have won 5 or 6 more games this year with Craft at the point imo so he should be classified along with other athletes like quarterbacks who commit to UT, plans are made, other recruits are backed off of, and who jilts us at signing day.

As a point guard, I like him but not a fan since he switched his commit.

Additionally, Thad Matta and the Buckeyes can blow me.

As bad as I hate UK, I was glad to see them give OSU another defeat at the hands of the SEC. Didn't know who I'd be for before the game began, and surprising could't pull for the Ohio "nuts". Watch out UK, OSU will be after you now.

Looks like we still got some kickers from the back of the pack. BP is gone. It's over. Namecalling and rehashing is awesome. Please keep it up. It allows everybody to move forward and doesn't make you look like immature asses.

Enjoy sitting at home you snitch.

Hopefully Thad can buy a currently committed to UK player and get him to try to take down Calipari.

If you do not enjoy watching the SEC take down those who out of the pain of getting bounced from the tournament last year orchestrated our fall, you can enjoy your "fandom".

Classy post is classy.

Still amazed people try to justify the lying and all around shoddy behavior of a grown man by blaming a teenage kid.

Chris Fowler still is spot on.

MHF - this is a difficult thread to read, even coming from you.

If losing Pearl has brought you to this desperate state, you might want to cancel your internet subscription before the other shoe drops in the next few months.

To pass the time between now and then, I'd go ahead and PM Freak with your preemptive request to change your username. Might I suggest "DavidBlackburnFan" instead?

This is likely going to be far more accurate - although not yet official. Either way, you'll be ahead of the curve.

100% agree. Good post. Fans bought into the showtime side and ignored the warts, which included the character flaws. All of us have good and bad stuff in us. In influential, high profile, positions such as Pearl had you have no choice but to control the bad stuff if you are going to excel long term. He didn't. If the garbageman cheats on his wife, leaves a trail of debts behind him, etc. it's bad; but very few people in the community get very upset about it. When the head coach of a top 20 college basketball program does it; it's a different deal altogether.

Funny you should mention football, where we did the exact same thing to that kid from Hawaii last recruiting season - recruited him hard, told him he was welcome then backed out on him after we decided we could do better, leaving him in a bit of a lurch waaaay too close to signing day. I submit that it is a whole lot easier for a Division 1 program to recover from this snub than it is for an 18-year old high schooler. My point here is that this goes both ways - get over it, quit blaming a kid for problems caused by an adult and, most importantly, stop whining.

I also fail to comprehend how you would expect a high-school kid to lie for someone who is supposed to be a responsible adult (and who is being paid quite handsomely in his supposed role as "leader of young men"), but I would be very disappointed if my son did. Some of us see UT as more than just an athletic factory, with several missions taking priority over winning on the field or the court. If all you care about is winning, I suggest you turn your attention to the NFL and/or NBA.
