Abortion: Should Rowe vs Wade be Overturned?

Should Rowe vs Wade be overturned?

I think even those opposed to abortion would yield to medical conditions and cases of rape or incest.

but why? Doesn't it say in the Bible "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you"? Didn't God know there would be a child created, even from a terrible act, and therefor there is no basis for 'killing' it?

You know I'm not religious but people seem to pick and choose which verses to take literally and which ones to ignore. (not at you KB)

stop with the freaking ellipses. Use the enter/return button or something.

Maybe use under_dashes.

Utvolpj...I agree....there are three ways of examining this act...first from the spiritual aspect...second from a political side (thats a joke) and what i consider even more important...Moral......The first two all of us would argue....but morally..no....and yes that small percentage via rape incest and medical should be look at separately from the one of inconvenient and medical burden...I have two friends that adopted....the long long very very expense procedure we have in this country ...left them no choice but to go to Korea for two wonderful needy children.....instead of abortion why not adoption? If money is the person's problem....a set of parents would gladly pay for that USA child.

Bigpapavol...sorry if my procedure on these messages do not meet your agreement..but sir for a 74 year old grandfather i feel i do very well on this computer. After all its been 52 years since i work on the IBM System 360 With RPG and Cobol....first came out.....if you are lucky to reach my age....you will realize the aches and pains are more important than the grammer.

you will realize the aches and pains are more important than the grammer.
are you seriously saying that aches and pains are the problem?

then how do you find the time to debate freaking abortion with people you're clearly not convincing?

if adoption laws were better in this country there might be some validity to your point. There are way too many unadopted children already in the US system. And to think there is a home for 1mil+ unwanted babies is absolutely ridiculous.

The need to have a choice is paramount to what this country is built on. Taking that away because of what you personally believe an almighty power may think is wrong. Deal with your own actions and let others do what they may. It causes no harm to you whatsoever.

Well Bigpapavol.....I would gladly be quiet to make you happy...sure....but will you do us one favor....YOU speak for the unborn......child?.......Not convining?....not my job jose....but maybe a seed is planted.

Sir....no there are NOT too many unadopted in "some" system. And its 1,300,000 abortions a year...and over 48,000.000 since rowe vs wade.....are they all unwanted?...why ?...all rotten no good children.....can you say they honestly

Again, if you want to argue when life begins, that is one thing. But the argument above is poor. Sounds like something out of China.

Again, it's not poor it's just going past the Sunday school lessons most abortion topics turn in to around here. The US adoption process is ridiculous and already has excess supply. For someone so against social welfare, where do you think the money would come from?

yes, if a child is aborted I would say there's a pretty good chance it's unwanted.

I purposely avoid using Sunday school lessons for just about any argument on here. You're saying other issues are failing and to avoid getting into those issues it is just to approve abortion. I say that is a poor reason. It is similar to me having a sick child and not being able to pay for his healthcare, so I just decide to off him. It is not for me to decide where the money comes from. I either think it is life or I think it isn't. If I choose to believe it is, then abortion is a murder. All other issues and consequences are irrelevant.

I don't view it as a remotely viable debate, so I'll not waste my time.

I know you feel like you're speaking for an unborn child, but how's that work, since they can't yet form thoughts or have opinions?

I'm laughing because when you posted earlier about ellipses I thought you were just meaning a circular conversation.

By the way, what are ellipses? Just making tons of dots between points?

yes, ellipses are just punctuation that typically imply passing time or omitted text.

I am sure the teenage girls and their families, faced with this difficult decision, can take comfort in the fact that a 74 year old man behind a keyboard wants to make their decision for them.

When you are just a ball of cells in the early stages of pregnancy. It's not human.

What separates us and all animals from one another? The DNA in our cells. The DNA in our cells is what makes us what we are and sets us apart, so wouldn't any grouping of cells still be human?

Parents of teenage children who has a pregnant daughter have more problems than abortion.
Also DNA is formed immediately.
Volbybirth.....Just answer one question..yes or no...Does 48,000,000 abortions bother you at all?, since you were not one of them. Many feel that not born means you have nothing to say...nothing at all....and so your argue Anti Life....did you ever stop to think just for one second..one second.....you have choice...you can debate this until we are blue in the face....all for ONE reason...you and i ....were never aborted.....one person making the descision that another will not live like yourself.

Voldad...."I am sure the teenage girls and their families, faced with this difficult decision, can take comfort in the fact that a 74 year old man behind a keyboard wants to make their decision for them."

Contray to your statement...i make no decisions for any one...i express my opinion...and by what i see...you did too. I see not every one does agree with you.....sorry if my age bothers....if you are lucky those aches and pains may bother you some day......for we have the right to grow old.

Neither your age nor opinion bothers me. This is a subject that many people are passionate about on both sides of the argument. Neither of us is going to change the others mind.

Fortunately, women have a choice, and no amount of banter on a message board will change that. :hi:

We're splitting hairs at this point. If you want to argue a ball of cells that has no form, no human body, no brain, etc is human -- then I'm OK with that. I just disagree.

It doesn't bother me.
