Abortion

FWIW, it took my sock a looong time to accumulate enough DNA to gain the ability to walk across the room.

I have two sons. The oldest is just 20 months.
Needless to say, I've seen a lot of ultrasounds in the past 2+ years.
I don't see how anyone could see the beating heart in a 6 week ultrasound (which is 4 weeks from conception) and not think that was a life.

It's just easier to call the baby a fetus! When my two sons were conceived, I couldn't wait for mine and my wife's fetus to be born. I also saw the ultrasounds, from the first one to the last, it looked like a baby to me!

Did the ultrasound show you indications of the soul of your fetus?

You serious, Clark?

I watched a tv show with my wife last week on E, and saw no PROOF that anyone on that show had a soul.

What you can see from the ultrasound is that little heart just gettin it as fast as it can go, just trying to hard to survive.

A heartbeat is not a soul.

The soul is just part of the complete package.

Is the soul in the sperm or in the ova? Does the soul arrive at fertilization? Which zygote does the soul go with (a soul, by definition, has no component parts and is inseparable)?

It is actually, "I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb". Decent effort, though; and, I have already addressed this scripture passage above.

Well aren't you special! Congrats!

I absolutely love reading a forum headquartered from East Tennessee. Where are the rational conservatives here? This scripture reference **** ain't workin'.

I'm a Christian, but I really don't see the point of trying to establish the moment when one develops a soul. If I were to have a full-body scan, where would I look to find my soul?

Do you think a fetus is a human?

Do you think abortion is murder?

If a 12 year old became pregnant after being raped by her step-father, would you be okay with her having an abortion?

Of course its human. It isn't a horse or brussel sprouts.

If its human and you kill it, it is murder.

If a man shoots your wife, would you be ok with killing his daughter? The kid is not responsible for the actions of someone else. Killing the baby because the father is a monster is not acceptable.

Particularly since the Bible ends on this note:

Legislating any type of Biblical morality would not be "letting the wicked still act wickedly".

What you quoted has more to do with the righteous/holy not conforming to the wicked.

Legislation does not eliminate the wicked anyway.

Legislating Biblical Morality goes directly against the statement "let the wicked be wicked".

If you want to live by theological principles, then live by theological principles; do not force others to live under your theocracy, though.
