Abortions Rights Win (Again)

It will be interesting to see in the debate tomorrow night whether any candidate supports a national abortion law.

The state's rights people would say no. The religious right would say yes. Which base do they seek to secure ?

Where is abortion located in the bill of rights?

I'm unsure letting each state decide what is and what isn't murder is a good plan in the long run.

And here it is. For decades the right on this issue insisted it was just a state's rights issue. It was packaged that way.

But now that a significant number of states are going against their position, the narrative starts to change ....

Actually, killing another human has been against the "law" long before the U.S was ever dreamed of.

Soooo, its about the freedom to kill, which you explain. Good grief.
It's about the government not being able to tell a woman what she can or can't do to her body. Should we require all males to have a vasectomy at 16 and then have it reversed when they are financially stable and ready to raise a kid?

You are reaching to asinine and idiotic lengths in attempts to reframe this.

It boils down to: if you don’t want to have an abortion, don’t have an abortion… but don’t try to legislate your beliefs onto everyone else who clearly don’t see it the same way. This is obviously how the majority of Americans feel.

If you dont want to murder, then dont murder but dont try and legislate your beliefs onto others.

The majority of Americans feel how they are programmed and conditioned to feel.

Texas considering laws to ban use of the roads for travel for abortion. How long before pro-life wild catters start crossing state lines trying to bring "murderers" to justice, like escaped slaves. Choice will probably need to be the national law again at some point.

Then thats how it should have been presented. Not under the guise of "its just state's rights."

Are you bitching because SCOTUS turning the issue back to state control hasn't worked like you thought it would?

Lol. Tell me you have no idea what you’re talking about, by just coming out and telling me.

All states are bound by the Supremacy Clause.

But with regards to the definition of specific types of crimes (e.g., “murder”) - yes, it is the states that decide what is and what isn’t.

Yeah but at the same time it's crazy and could never happen....because the government can't control a man's body, just like they shouldn't be able to control a woman's.

The government can't control a mans body? That's news to me, they control what you can put into it, they tried to mandate putting a vaccine in it, they control the selling of your own body, shall I go on?

You - keep talking. Tell me more about this vasectomy plan.

No, it doesn't. The creeps took away a longtime federal right. The views of Republicans and christian crazies on abortion have always been in the minority--they are not shared by most Americans. But this is true of most GOP/crazy christian views.
I’ve reread the bill of rights…..nope not there

100% agree. Beautiful framework you’ve laid down btw. Applicable in other areas as well.

No such law would stand a federal court challenge. Just like going to a state where weed is legal and smoking up, TN can't arrest you when you come home.

No it hasn’t.
That’s just wishful thinking on your part

I'm not sure that since slavery you could be considered a "person" in one state and "property of another" in the next.

Try to look at it from the perspective of the person being treated like a "thing" in one state and having the right to be protected from someone else making the choice for them to die in another.
