1). White House guy gets it wrong, then explains why, which is that he thought CK's question was about a different piece. The WH guy owns up to the mistake, says CK can reproduce the email acknowledging it, and explains bust in question sent back as part of a group that was due to be returned.
They claimed it was there then had to backtrack when the British Ambassador confirmed it was in his residence. They were busted. (no pun intended)
2). Evidently, Brits offered to let it stay, but was sent back.
And the Brits were offended by this move.
3). Right wing loons open speculate that Obama personally told staff to send it back because it offended him due to Brit issues with Kenyans about 70 years ago.
4). Skins repeats the rank guesswork here.
On three and four Skins repeated what had been in news stories. If he is wrong then he is no more lying than the WH when they vehemently denied the bust had been returned. He's going on the information he has. Of course we'll never know the truth because the WH won't tell.
5). When questioned, skins repeats the speculation as abdolute fact, proven by the loon posting. He doesn't acknowledge the actual facts. Just days we should trust that the loon speculation is right because it's in print.
Conclusions: controversy is utterly fabricated to deflect attention from Romney's almost comical efforts to appear statesman-like. No evidence Obama even knows the thing was there, much less that he cared about it at all. But hey, it's a chance to remind people that Obama is different than us.
