Yes Clemson would be 12th. I was referring to ASU. If SMU wins and takes the 3rd bye and Boise gets the 4; ASU isn’t automatically relegated to the 12 spot. They could theoretically jump Bama in the final rankings and be the 11.Clemson Is 18th…doubt they overtake the other conference champs. That is, if they hold on and win…
They also play: Wofford, Citadel, Furman, Presbyterian, etc and most of the ones you listed above were played early in the season and were preseason ranked. Same as when Vols played Oklahoma and NC State, who were ranked and turned out to be overrated. What are you talking about? Since Dabo has been there they’ve played the following OOC teams in addition to SCar. The ND games are part of ND’s ACC requirement but they don’t count as an ACC game. So Clemson is playing 8 ACC opponents + ND + Scar on those years.
2009 - #15 TCU
2010 - #16 Auburn
2011 - #21 Auburn
2012 - #25 Auburn
2013 - #5 UGA
2014 - #12 UGA
2015 - #6 ND
2016 - Auburn
2017 - #13 Auburn
2018 - Texas AM
2019 - #12 Texas AM
2021 - #5 UGA
2022 - ND
2023 - #15 ND
2024 - #1 UGA
Yea, my comment was in response to someone saying SMU wouldn’t drop enough to be out if they lose.Yes Clemson would be 12th. I was referring to ASU. If SMU wins and takes the 3rd bye and Boise gets the 4; ASU isn’t automatically relegated to the 12 spot. They could theoretically jump Bama in the final rankings and be the 11.

They still scheduled 10 P4 opponents. So this isn’t the “first time” they scheduled like this. They’re playing 2 OOC P4/5 games a year. We’re not doing that and we play UTM, UTC, APSU so we play our share of FCS teams, they just have different names. They also play: Wofford, Citadel, Furman, Presbyterian, etc and most of the ones you listed above were played early in the season and were preseason ranked. Same as when Vols played Oklahoma and NC State, who were ranked and turned out to be overrated.
