Perhaps that the effects of undiagnosed and untreated mental illness have caused massive harm to our country. That we need to invest in research and more facilities to treat especially the troubled youth. That we need to consider where we might have gone wrong (abandoned Judeo-Christian values, promoted drug use and single parent households, celebrated mental disorders as "normal," relied too heavily on medications, inflicted significant emotional distress with nonsense restrictions over the past 3 years, and created a system that is castrated against helping those in need until too late). Suicide, depression, drug addiction, and anxiety are the actual pandemics.

It's not a lovefest. It's simply pointing out that 99% of people who decide murder children at school aren't trans/LGBTQ/whatever. Y'all are using this one example to push your anti-trans rhetoric.

Wrong..the Trans community is pushing mutilation of children. So really no one cares abut the hurled insults like transphobic or whatever. I gladly wear that title.

Actually, no, just advocating for mental health improvement, better warning response, and more secure school facilities. Any or all of the 3 would have prevented this catastrophe. Not a single "gun law" would have made a bit of difference.

Looks like the school was locked up, there were armed teachers inside, but the shooter shot out windows to get in.

So now we’re doing the one entrance with guards and metal detectors, outswinging fire doors (firemen trying to get in to help are gonna love), but we have to go back and bulletproof every window (but they can be broken too). Like your wife’s favorite home renovation show, we’re going way over budget.

How about this? We install huge magnets in the center of the building so when bullets fly they’ll just change course and stick to it. Now obviously that mean no more jewelry. Older cavity fillings will need to go, as well as any surgically installed plates. No electronic devices. Basically schools are now windowless maximum security prisons, and students are now Amish. The hat buckles… I forgot. Damn!

I keep scrambling to find solutions that won’t disrupt the unchecked proliferation of firearms, as all related inconveniences that might increase safety are infringement, but it’s tough. And it’s almost like most of these ideas don’t really consider the practicalities, and are kind of just… mouth diarrhea. Tough.

Well thanks for your sacrifice, three 9 year olds, substitute teacher, janitor, and other teacher. You died for our freedom, and you’d be honored to know several Congress members wore AR-15 pins to honor the gun lob… I mean to honor your memory. Very sweet.

Keep on keeping on freedom fighters! Not for a child’s right to breathe of course, but for Clarence’s right to carry without a permit. All hail the Second Amendment! If God won’t protect our schools, maybe it will! Deerrrrppppp!

We agree on everything except that last sentence. Why should any human with a diagnosed psychological disorder, under psychiatric care, be able to purchase basically unlimited firearms.

They should not. She committed a felony filing our her 4473 and the system is f#$%ed so far to protect privacy that her condition was not reported to the ATF.

To clarify:

Background checks are in place, the most stringent in the history of our nation.

Assault rifles/automatic weapons are almost impossible to purchase legally, and they are remarkably cost prohibitive. In addition, I don't know of a single mass shooting in the news that involved the use of one. Drug cartels and gangs absolutely have access (illegally).

Handguns are overwhelmingly used in gun crimes.

The majority of gun purchases in the US are semi-automatic, including deer rifles, handguns, air rifles, and even shotguns.

It's been a wake up call to see that so many people are unaware of the actual facts. Hopefully, this will lead to actual effectual ideas and change. Look for the actual problems.

A good place for the anti-gun crowd to focus is maybe Hollywood. They are already part of the left-wing cabal and getting them to slow the promotion of gun violence in their films is a start. The stars that get up and preach about gun violence are fine with it in their films. That is an easy win, a home game for the left, and could possibly go a long way in improving this great country of ours.

Exactly; it's not a hatefest anymore than a lovefest. Again, no spent a second thinking about them until they attempted to coerce the rest of us - but most of all our children - into pretending their delusion is real.
It's rather more than one example; there were at least 4 or 5 recent examples which is grossly disproportionate given their percentage of the population.
"Ya'll are just using this to create a anti-conservative narrative".

We all know what the end result is.

Both groups reference “education” and “truth” when they bring the most horrible things they can find.

It’s simply playing on outrage and shock.
