I think Franklin is the best up and comer out their. They are competitive with the top teams in the conference and beating up onthe weak like KY AND TN. I understand he has 9 four stars commited to Vandy, That is amazing. How many does Strong have commited. I see improvement in them every year. I would much rather have him than most other names on the list.

Not quite. LSU fell for it, just like these yahoos here want us to, with Franklin. They paid for it, with major suckage for years.

The day we envy Vandy for their coach, is the day Football died in Tennessee.

30+ years. So your family is the ones that sit and complain the whole game, on every play. The ones that get mad if somebody stands up on 3rd downs while on defense.

Oh yea i know your type :). But please dont give up your seats. Tennessee dosent have enough fans out there to replace you guys. More than likely the university will just remove those seats completly that way they dont set empty every weekend.

Instead of being be pissed if UT gets Franklin, folks should be pissed that Vandy has had a better HC than UT has had for the past few years.

If we had James Franklin and were getting big name recruits and were going 10-2 or 11-1 and were competing then you wouldn't be happy?
I guess I am different as I don't care who it is; I just want to win.

If he can get 9 4-stars to Vandy, imagine what he can do in Knoxville. Vandy is already ahead of us in recruiting. That's unacceptable. Also, he coaches with heart and passion, which is something we haven't see in a UT coach in years. Vandy is a team of a bunch of 2 and 3 stars, and they still put a whuppin on us. It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog. We need a coach that can light a fire in our team, and he has proven he can do that.

He lost to Dooley, not many SEC coaches can claim that distinction. I can't say that I would be happy. He would have to make me a believer.

Franklin is awful. Just knowing that some UT alum and fans want this d-bag tells me how far we've fallen.

I'd take Fulmer back before Franklin.

Take the blinders off, he's won more at Vandy than any coach for 100 years...and that's fact, not an exaggeration.

If Larry Munson, (that's the ticket, I'm gettin old dudes) the voice of the Commodores could take the bucks, leave Vandy & Nashville and become the all time greatest announcer and voice of the Bulldogs in Athens ( how the %$#@ does someone leave Nashville for Athens????), Franklin can do the same except roll down I-40 to Knoxville and succeed.

I don't have blinders on. I've watched what he's done over at Vandy. Still don't have a hard on for him.

My idea of UT's next coach is not the guy who got some wins at Vandy.

I'll pass.

He's coached 2 years at our in-state rival school and produced one sub-.500 season and an admittedly good 8-4 season and we all should be crowning him the new head coach? Is it that people don't realize our program has fallen more by the wayside and we're impressed because Franklin is the moderately good looking chick with 4 or 5 hot friends (which I'm inclined to believe) or is it that Franklin is a loud mouth that just hit on a good year because of the fact that we are at our lowest point as a football program? I've read the SI article on Vandy folks--they are a cute little human interest story in college football but that's all they are IMO. I'd look at Franklin if he had more than 2 seasons..but it's not enough of a sample size for me...sorry.
