Sidebar: do not know much about the Vandy AD, but I am sure Franklin has respect for him...not so sure that would happen with our current AD...I believe our AD has his beady little eyes set on a Dooley clone (see: Al Golden)

I'm not sure Vandy has an AD. :hi:

I think I heard Chris Lowe say his salary was over $3mil per year. Not sure if that is true though.

Here's all you need to know to understand it:

1) He has a winning record at Vanderbilt and may even win 9 freakin' games in one season !

2) He is taking Vandy to back to back bowl games for the first time in their history.

3) He is recruiting like a freakin' madman to Vandy. He has them in the Top 20 in recruiting. He has upgraded the players they are getting from 2 stars with an occasional 3 star, to mostly 3 stars with some 4 stars.

If he can do that at a crappy no tradition place like Vandy, just think what he could do at a great place like UT !!!

Me too. It will never happen, but that doesn't keep me from wishing it would.

The real problem is I have no faith in the UT AD to make a hire like Franklin. Based on Kiffin and Dooley, you just can't trust them to make a good decision. Hopefully, I'm proven wrong.

If you look at their body of work the past couple seasons, I don't see why Strong is considered to be a better candidate than Franklin.

Tennessee is way to prideful to pry away Vandys coaches. It would be a very sad day in UT history if we go after Franklin.

This in a nutshell is why we need this guy. He has the personality to draw players in and overcome our natural recruiting disadvantages. He would recruit at UT on par with the top half of the SEC.

So what if he works at Vanderbilt? How many of you would want to hire Nick Saban if he were available?

Franklin is one of the top 2-3 coaches in the entire SEC and isma rising superstar in the coaching circles. Why would you not look at him?

If you were the Chairman of the Board of a fortune 100 company, would you hire the best talent available to be your CEO? Or,would,you settle for less because the better candidate worked for a competitor? Trust me, in the business world smart leaders go for the talent regardless where they work.

Thats why Hart should do the same.

Fooley was at La. Tech before UTK. Vandy > La. Tech. Franklin would be a great guy for ya'll.

So, you're saying because Vandy doesn't suck quite as bad as they normally do...we need their coach? LSU Hired Gerry DiNardo for the same retarded reasons.

Franklin helped get his HC fired at Maryland, so we need some of that, huh? He recruits a little better than Vandy normally does, so that make him a great hire, eh? :loco:

He hadn't done shiite before Vandy, and a few more wins than normal is not a qualification for UT.

Strong is leagues better than Franklin and isn't a Pricht. What's more is Franklin's comment about assistant coaches wives tells me he's worse than Kiffin, and the kind of guy I'd like to knock the funk out.
