You know what is even more habitual than motor offenders? The act of driving. Its so habitual that one can do it successfully and safely even under the most adverse physical or mental conditions.

Is alcohol a hallucination. I suppose you want me to put on the beer goggles that we used in middle school when they used the government scare tactics to lie to us about what it looks like when you are drunk. I don't know about you, buy Im not sure that alcohol causes blindness.

No. Nothing like that. Sex is a pleasurable experience with many different variables, emotions or thought processes. Driving is a monotonous task that requires nothing more than sight, and minimal muscle control.

I'm 42 and I understood your post. I had a friend killed by a drunk driver and it sucks. However, to say you will kill someone? Also, if you are a good hearted fire fighter, which I asssume you are, I would hope you treat the alleged runk driver w/ professional courtesy instead of being "rough."
Thank you though as I know the police and fire fighters are underappreciated.

It wasn't the cost analysis. It was simply principal. Of A is against the law and is enforced, then if B is also against the law then why not enforce it as well.

Simply add the cost to the offender along with other fines, jail time, and attorney fees.



Just trying to make a point.

My closing thought. How about "we" arrest and prosecute people for actually causing harm to a person or their property and nothing less. If a person is sober enough to make the spot decision to not drink and drive because of the consequences of dui laws, they are probably sober enough to drive.
