No way you have such a smug doucheness on here that doesn't spill over into your daily life.

Ask them. I know @ 20.

You guys are crybabies that show no respect for any coach or the program, and you just happen to not be an alum. Draw your own conclusions. I treat people the way they treat others.
You guys want to talk **** about our coach before his first practice and act like its support? Jokes. Each one of you.

So what does that make you?

Definitely nailed it.

It's getting real old.
You must enjoy working with special needs posters

Rainy day and boredom led to some of this. I, outside of a couple of posters, treat them the way they treat others. Guys running their mouths in here post like they are complete *******s so they will be treated as such.

Please. I haven't said a bad word about Butch Jones. Try again.

I didn't ask for anecdotal evidence (and you are ignoring the appropriate sample request). You used a statistical reference, so I'm asking for the statistics that you used to support the argument.

"Most" is a big word, and I believe it has an important bearing on the feasibility of UT's coming rebuild, as you obviously do also.

So, where are the stats for all coaches with an .800 or better previous winning percentage, who have attempted a rebuild. Let's see if "most" have failed.

(Should we define an agreeable definition for "most", or just use 51%?)
If by rebuild you mean a 4-5 year cycle for Butch Jones to try and load the roster and see his first class of seniors play, you can pretty much forget it. If he is not winning 10 games by 2015 he'll be gone. No reason he get longer than Dooley.

I swear I walked away from this thread 3 hours ago and sparty and emain were fighting then.

The reality is JG did not bring in a single high caliber running back. NOT ONE!

Beyond that, everything else is opinion.

I have no clue how big a deal this is of a loss and neither do you two.

On a side note, I was at the Cincy game sitting on the 45 yard line 5 rows from the field. I saw the game very well.

We played our best ball ever and had a ton of lucky breaks. It was also the only time that season or ever again that we had Hunter and Rogers together at full strength.

Their running back broke containment and it was close until our Wr's began making amazing catches and they had no defense for both of them on the field at the same time.

We also had a lucky onside kick go our way that NEVER goes our way.

They ran into a buzz saw that game and we never had the same product on the field again.

It is not a good game to judge Jones by.

I said most coaches.

You did, indeed. That's what initiated the request for numbers to back it up. I asked you to narrow it down from all coaches to all coaches that represent CBJ's success to date.

You gave me some arbitrary number and it certainly doesn't describe Jones' winning percentage.

My bad. I meant .680 or better. Go.

And in this case, we can say 51% but the number is going to be higher.

Prove it. The fact that you don't know the answer tells me that you are making uninformed assertions about uninformed assertions. You haven't based your opinion on knowledge. Now all you can do is hope that the stats fall in your favor. I would suspect that the stats of .680 or better coaches will not support your blind assertion.

You can try to be difficult all you want to,

I am not trying to be difficult. I am holding you responsible to your own argument.

the sheer volume of coaches fired because they couldn't get the job done is all the evidence I need

That is quite sad and speaks volumes about your thinking process. The fact that you base likelihoods based on a "sheer volume" of all coaches, as opposed to a sampling of coaches representative of the coach that we are actually discussing...

I'm beginning to understand you a little better.

Definitely not if you're a Butch Jones fan. I'm not falling for the baloney like I did with Dooley. This guy is going to have to prove himelf every stop of the way and so far I've seen a mostly lackluster staff assembled, a yawner of a recruiting class that missed out on huge gaping areas of need, and two whiffs on top flight recruiters. Where's the optimism coming from other than blind ignorance and alcohol? Hell, at least Dooley sounded intelligent even if he was an a-hole. I'm not sure we upgraded at all.

Personally, I don't think CBJ has a full rebuild on his hands. I think UT is pretty talented and close. I'm just holding him responsible to his own argument, and pointing out that he's pulling things out of his ass to try to cover his defective thinking.

Every point he had made has been debunked, and he keeps moving the goalpost with further fallacies.

Screw it, I think you are wrong, you think I'm wrong, I could give you a fifty slide presentation demonstrating my point and you would find something wrong with it. So, we will just leave it at that.

By this, he means that he has failed to debunk even one point, and since he is having such a hard time with it, he will simply accuse me of changing the subject.

Actually, now I'm done

I haven't kept up enough to know. It's like living in perpetual beatdown trying to be a Vol football fan anymore. Everyone understands where we could be if the right hire had been made and it seemed like we were so freaking close to seeing it happen. With Jones, I don't see it and I dont feel it either. I just want this crapstorm to end.

If all you have is what you've presented, obviously I would find something wrong with it. I already have. Everything I have found wrong with it has been supported by pointing out what is actually wrong, irrational, illogical, fallacious, and unsupported about it. Unlike you, I didn't resort to "I think, and you think, so..."

You have presented a series of arguments that have failed at every turn. You are well advised to leave it at that.

Are you relying on people to only be able to read your post, and ignore the past 3 or so pages where I have rebutted your every argument?

Or are you just hoping others are as lazy as you are, and aren't going to worry about looking up the facts that you reference?

I can understand the emotional toll that you've felt. Most of us have been there. I respect that you admit up front that it's an emotional response. :hi:

No, your entire counterargument has been "you are wrong," "that's a fallacy," and "write me a dissertation proving why you are right." There has been nothing of substance, which is why I'm done.

I apologizing for pointing out the fallacies as you've abundantly used them and asking you to produce the stats that you referenced to support your crank argument.

I take it that you don't like discussing your views with someone who is able to spot your BS, is willing to point it out, and is intent on holding you responsible when you base your claims on made up data.
