Ainge going off on Graham!

Gonna score this one to emain over spartacus. About 100-0.

People who think a .667 Big East coach is going to come in and resurrect a program in the SEC would almost believe anything, even in Derek Dooley. (As was said in another thread yesterday, our own stupidity is to blame for the shape this program is in.)

Trivia question: what was Les Miles, Nick Saban's, and Steve Spurrier's individual career win %'s PRIOR to entering the SEC?

Hint: lower than Butch Jones.

Now I'm not saying Jones will do what those guys have done. But you post couldn't be more offbase and idiotic. In fact, I have high hopes that Butch can do well here.

We agree on something.

No, I guarantee you you'd much rather come on here and say I told you so. That's pretty clear.

Hey look, it's another mind reader. Do you, Sparty and the Crushinator plot how to take over the world with your powers?

The point was, it wasn't like he inherited a broken down program.

Agreed, and he pretty much maintained the excellence that "one if the best coaches in America" had established. If he had a losing record like Dooley did I could understand your skepticism. But he doesn't. As a matter of fact, I think you'd say that Brian Kelly has been pretty successful since leaving Central Mich and Cincy, right, what with him going undefeated and playing for the national championship and all last year. Butch has followed in his exact footsteps and had similar success with those programs. Why would you not think he could do the same here? Just overly negative IMHO.

Because he followed a ****ty coach in the best conference in football, not a proven winner in a joke conference with approximately one good program.

Not even close, in a unanimous decision to Sparty. I'll take his logical reasoned posts over EMain's "he's sh**ty, you're a jack***, it all sucks" approach.

There is a good possibility that Jones will have a respectable first season. There are enough good players for it, and he's definitely got that coach thing going.

Whatever chief...So Kelly, having the same success with CM and Cincy as Butch is one of the greatest coaches in America, while Butch pretty having the same success with CM and Cincy as Kelly absolutely sucks. Ok, got it.

What program has Butch Jones rebuilt?

I'll wait.

Funny how you passed over the ones that say "I hope I'm wrong but I'm confident I'm not" you know, since they don't fit your argument.

Yeah cause the other 99% of your posts are so damn negative that I don't remotely believe that part. It just seems like a throwaway line.

Who the hell said anything about rebuilding. I just said that over the course of 6 seasons at the same programs that he had pretty much the same success. Wait as long as you want or just change the subject again if you want.

What the hell do you think he would be doing here? Oh yeah, I forgot where Dooley left him a team full of first round talent that challenged for the national championship last year and fell just a little bit short. Must have confused myself when I changed the subject from Butch Jones' coaching history to Butch Jones' coaching history.

Oh I completely agree. For one, I think are defense is way more talented than what they showed last year.

Moving the goalpost, I see.

So, are you submitting as evidence for your argument that nothing ever happens unless it has already happened before?

Not at all, but the past tends to be a pretty good indicator of the future, and I have a hard time thinking a guy who got his brains beat in by the worst head coach in Tennessee history is the guy that will right the ship. I just like to use colorful and strong language in conveying that doubt.
