Gonna score this one to emain over spartacus. About 100-0.
People who think a .667 Big East coach is going to come in and resurrect a program in the SEC would almost believe anything, even in Derek Dooley. (As was said in another thread yesterday, our own stupidity is to blame for the shape this program is in.)
We agree on something.Trivia question: what was Les Miles, Nick Saban's, and Steve Spurrier's individual career win %'s PRIOR to entering the SEC?
Hint: lower than Butch Jones.
Now I'm not saying Jones will do what those guys have done. But you post couldn't be more offbase and idiotic. In fact, I have high hopes that Butch can do well here.
The point was, it wasn't like he inherited a broken down program.
Agreed, and he pretty much maintained the excellence that "one if the best coaches in America" had established. If he had a losing record like Dooley did I could understand your skepticism. But he doesn't. As a matter of fact, I think you'd say that Brian Kelly has been pretty successful since leaving Central Mich and Cincy, right, what with him going undefeated and playing for the national championship and all last year. Butch has followed in his exact footsteps and had similar success with those programs. Why would you not think he could do the same here? Just overly negative IMHO.

Because he followed a ****ty coach in the best conference in football, not a proven winner in a joke conference with approximately one good program.
Who the hell said anything about rebuilding. I just said that over the course of 6 seasons at the same programs that he had pretty much the same success. Wait as long as you want or just change the subject again if you want.
Moving the goalpost, I see.
So, are you submitting as evidence for your argument that nothing ever happens unless it has already happened before?
