The anouncer on the ESPN U show that is now on ESPN2 just said "don't worry, he's healthy."

I haven't really heard much anywhere else.

I would expect exactly what we are hearing no matter EA's status - if he can walk they should say he is playing. Call me a pessimist, but what I am seeing is that he had an x-ray and MRI on Sunday, was in a walking boot today, and has not practiced.

The QB position is tough to play with a bum plant ankle. I'm preparing myself for the worst and hoping for the best.

On Vol Calls he said they hoped to have Erik on the practice field tomorrow, but that if it came to Jon playing, he was very confident in Jon and that Jon was ready to play.

I'm just hoping that Crompton plays if Ainge isn't ready. Crompton won't be as effective, but an 80% Ainge isn't as good as a 100% Crompton right now. I just hope he doesn't force it if it isn't in decent health.

How do we know that 80% Ainge isn't as good as 100% Crompton right now? I hear your point about not forcing it...but I don't know the answer to 80% EA vs. 100% JC..and honestly I don't want to find out!

If his ankle is broken, shoot him up and he plays. If ligaments are torn, we are up sh*t creek.

Exactly. As much as I like EA, if he is ineffective early in the LSU game because of the injury, then go with the redshirt freshman.

I remember two other instances when we (UT) tried to play with an injured QB (C. Clausen in the Bama loss in 2002 and the 1993 UT-Bama tie with Shuler playing the second half with an injured throwing shoulder).

So i take it i'm not the only one that thinks that the UT staff are hiding how bad the injury to Ainge truly is? All i keep hearing is he'll be ok its just a bruise my god man he about done a Prothro. Worst case play him and see what happens.GOD i hope JC is ready to go.

If he can't move around in the pocket, you can't play him. A stationary QB against LSU is a guy likely to take an ambulance ride. Brandon Cox, who can move around a little, is still recovering from the beating they administered to him.

Crompton goes in the game, start of second Q. Do you believe he can bring us home or not. I do, who would think that Rick Clausen could have at the LSU game last year. :good!:

This isn't Varsity Blues.
Thanks for the input. When it concerns mobility, a broken ankle is much more apt to play on than having one with torn ligaments. I broke my ankle during football season and played on it for another 8 games, while taking plenty of Codeine.

Also, you might want to call Justin Harrell and let him know you disapprove of his playing with a torn bicep, because "This isn't Varsity Blues."

Do you think that they would say the X-ray and MRI were negative if they weren't? It seems more like they would say they couldn't release the results due to privacy concerns, but he will be ready to play....knowing that he wouldn't be. I'm thinking that it may be worse than they are letting on...but it must be a sprain...or else MRI would have been positive, no?
