Ainge Injury (Merged)

I heard the audible was a deep ball to meach. Yeah its a bad idea, but my point is everyones balls would have been in their throat and it would have been one of the most memorable plays in a long time (either way I guess). Anyway just kinda a fun post. I doubt anyone can honestly say part of you didn't want to see that play go ahead. I know I sure can't deny it, and I think that is part of the appeal of that whole scenario.

a fully healthy Crompton for the LSU game?? Honestly I'm not sure, and the only reason I'm even asking is because today Phil really hedged on whether Ainge would be ready for the game. On one hand with Ainge we all know what happens when he doesn't set his feet and his mechanics are a little out of whack. And with LSU's defensive line I don't think that's the best time to have a gimpy Ainge. And on the other hand Crompton's mobility will help but he hasn't taken a meaningful snap in a game. Who would you go with?

Thanks for the input. When it concerns mobility, a broken ankle is much more apt to play on than having one with torn ligaments. I broke my ankle during football season and played on it for another 8 games, while taking plenty of Codeine.

Also, you might want to call Justin Harrell and let him know you disapprove of his playing with a torn bicep, because "This isn't Varsity Blues."

Good to know you broke your ankle so you know way more about the injury than I do. It's also good to know that your injury is exactly the same as Ainge's. Apparently there is only one way to break your ankle. Give Ainge Codeine and there will be no chance that he complicates the injury and has to miss the rest of the year, effectively flushing the rest of the season down the toilet.

If we couldn't beat Vanderbilt and Kentucky with Crompton at QB, either JC is the most overhyped recruit in UT history or the whole team stinks.

Losing to LSU and Arkansas consecutively would put quite a damper on the season. Finish all that off with a bowl loss, and people all of a sudden realize we haven't beaten a really good team since our first game.

I said I do not know if it is the same. I said if broken compared to having torn ligaments. If the bones in the ankle are broken, it is tough to do more damage to the ankle. The problem is playing through the pain. If the ligaments are torn, then you need surgery sooner rather than later.

I personally would rather have a less-than 100% Ainge. I think the decision making and experience of playing in big games is something you cannot replace, even with a talented young QB.

Hell, we pulled the trick with Rick Clausen two years ago, surely Crompton has more talent then the Noodle.

EDIT: According to espn, Lsu's top two recievers are questionable with injuries. Im sure they will play, but they wont be 100%.

I broke my ankle and couldn't play soccer for a handful of weeks. Then again, it was soccer.

I got my ankle caught in a bear trap...so I just gnawed it off.

I would be shocked if Ainge is still standing at the end of game on Saturday. I will remain hopeful that he is able to play. If not, it will be JC's turn to put his money where his mouth is.

i'm driving 8 hours to see this game saturday and bringing a neyland first timer...EA is hurt, may or may not play...will be sad if this game doesn't end in UT's favor. :crossfingers:
