Gruden never was coming here. Guys got a cushy job. He's not gonna give that up to fix our program. We need a coach that is hungry, one that can recruit, and put in the extra hours in the film room. This is the coach that will put us back on the right path.

Gruden would be nice but I think Strong is better fit. Strong is an sec guy that coached at SC and Fla. and 9-0 record at Louisville.I think he would help recruiting in Carolina's again and Florida.

I dont get this 9-0 crap... What conference is he in again??? He might help in recruiting, bit i want to see him prove himself in a conference that actually plays some sort of football... Oh yeah,, he"s even struggled to win a couple games thia year..

You sound like he has a sec team that should beat everyone up. The talent he has is equal to his conference and he is undefeated. It's not like he has a Bama,LSU,UGA,Fla talent and can beat them 50-0 every game.

Well the way everyone says how good he's recruited. You'd of thought he did have sec talent.. wasnt it said he recruits florida the carolinas..

He will get his share of good talent but what kind of recruit would want to go to Louisville instead of sec school. I know if I was a good recruit it would be sec and big schools 1st.

He is bringing in good recruits at UL and beating everyone. Pitt,Cinci, are both better programs to recruit to and he is out doing both by a long shot.

Give him UT caliber recourses and allow him to bring in a good offensive coordinator and I think we would be in the sec hunt again by year 2.

Just wondering if anyone would have a thought on who Ainge's sources could be. He has consistently said that Gruden is 100% not coming...has really hit that point home this week. Thoughts, facts...??

I have no idea who his sources could be but with the Vols' recent luck, I'd bet 100% that Gruden wasn't coming either.

no one gives a crap about what Ainge says. He only spews what he is told to so he can keep a job.

Gruden is coming, it will be a fantastic Christmas for the Vols.

Since I expect Hart to listen to me :)crazy:), here's my criteria of a PROVEN coach for Dave "The Hitman" Hart...

(1) IF it's someone at the collegiate level THEN they need to have more than 1 year as a head coach and at least played in (and preferably WON) a conference championship. I guess a prior Nat'l Championship would work... :) :p

(2) IF it's someone at the NFL ranks THEN they need to have been a head coach or coordinator with a team that they've taken to the playoffs at least 1 year. A Super Bowl ring would do... :thumbsup:

If the new coach doesn't fit into either one of these then I'm going to buy Hart a helmet and box of crayons for Christmas.

The Bleacher Report wants to think Gruden is going NFL but CBS Jason L says otherwise...I read one article that said Gruden wants to coach and is more biased toward TN...then I read an article that said Gruden wants to coach NFL....

Bottom line no one really knows. Gruden is welcome here and would have the full support of the majority of the fan base. I know that there is a lot of smoke to the Gruden story...

I have heard that Hart wanted to make his own search which is a different process used versus how we hired Dooley. I have heard that the donors are more/less conducting their own search. Hmmmmm....

The Bleacher Report is a website that features articles written by ANYONE. I've written a few BR articles, and I rarely know what I'm talking about. You should read that stuff as you would anything on a message board.
