Silly Cat. That goes directly AGAINST the point he is trying to make.

No it doesn’t. They want to win and they know that they will eventually play anywhere. A low 4 star has to worry about never seeing the field at Bama.

As for your comment about evidence vs a statement I’m not going to spend a bunch of time pulling statistics on the number of 5 stars that commit to championship programs vs elsewhere bc it’s f’ing obvious

It’s irritating (not just because we happen to face these stacked teams yearly) because this mindset partnered with shady recruiting tactics have destroyed any parity in college football. During halftime of one of the games and analyst was talking about being asked who he thinks will make the CFB playoffs. His answer is just the same as last year.

Check out my response earlier bud. I think we can still land good recruits, even a few elite ones. I’m not wrong though, truly elite recruits want to win, they expect to play anywhere.

I like evidence. Here is your evidence: the vast majority of elite recruits sign with national championship winning (or contending) coaches.

This is what you said - “they expect to play anywhere.”

Now this is what you say - “they know they will eventually play anywhere.”

You contradict yourself after realizing you were wrong.

You like evidence? But don’t want to pull statistics?
I’ll save you the trouble. You’re wrong. It’s obvious. Nite Nite.

Are you a troll or are you just dumb? Knowing that they will play does not mean that they will play immediately. Sitting two years is not a big deal if you know you will see the field for multiple seasons. And give me some evidence then if it is so obvious *******

I agree but the problem is nothing yesterday indicated that we're anywhere close to being on the come up, and it's not going to get any better as the season goes on. We just got mamhandled by probably the least physical team in the top 25. Image what Florida, Georgia, Bama, Diet USC, and Auburn will do. I know we don't have the guys to compete with them right now, and we probably won't be able to next year either, and at most we're competing for 3rd place in the east in 2020, and at that point how much longer can you sell recruits on bringing the program back when you're on your 3rd class and you still aren't anywhere near being competitive in your division. Do you not remember how bad that 2009 team was that Kiffin took to Tuscaloosa and nearly left with a win? Sure it was the middle of the season, but that Tennessee team was far worse than the one now even if we had Berry, and that Alabama team was far better than West Virginia. I was very high an Pruitt after I heard what he had to say and what others had to say about him, but after seeing how undisciplined and soft we were yesterday not to mention how much we were outcoached it's hard for me to believe that he's going to be able to make the team competitive again. We seemed extremely unprepared in nearly every aspect of the game which is a major problem considering we had film on them and they had none on us. Can you imagine how bad it would've been had we played them in week 2 and they had film on us? Recruits are making their decisions about Tennessee based on the fact we have a new coach that's going to make important changes to the program, but there has to be results if he wants to keep pulling big time guys. That's one of the issues we ran into with Butch. He was able to get a lot of studs his first couple years because they saw an opportunity to play often and early and turn a dying program -that used to be elite- around. After those 2-3 years though everyone realized it wasn't going to work and stopped buying in. I know it's 1 game and it's still very early for him, but first impressions are extremely important and his first impression was horrible. I don't care what anyone has to say about yesterday either. The only plus to that game were the 2 scoring drives and having the balls to go for it on 4th and goal. Everything else was pitiful and embarrassing to watch

You seriously need some Xanax for that anxiety.

For some, sitting two years is a big deal. They want early PT to start building that NFL resume so they can get to that money ASAP. Not all these players are in college for the education. The really good ones are dreaming of lucrative NFL contracts.

Problem is that elite recruits will play anywhere. This pitch only works with good players (still good pickups) but the high 4 and 5 stars aren’t worried about playing time. Not trying to be negative I think we will get our share of guys this year and just need to win next year and be top 5 or so in recruiting next year

These are your words, in response to LA’s comments about recruits seeing an opportunity to play immediately... The implication being that “elite” players will play immediately, anywhere.

You brought up “evidence”. You “like it”, remember? Except when you can’t produce it...

It’s late, you’re tired. Why don’t you sit the next few plays out. Run along little fella.

Typically the ones worth their salt want to compete for that position, the paper four and five stars are the ones that want it handed to them. Unfortunately we have had way too many of the latter and is a major reason we find ourselves in the predicament we are.

The ones we need are the ones that want to compete at the highest levels, those guys aren't looking at us in many cases. It is what it is. That's what Pruitt has to change but we have fallen to Vandy levels of suckage and even the best coach won't be able to turn that around in a couple of years.

Elite players are mostly concerned with who they think gives them the best chance to get to the league at the highest draft round possible.
