I’ve said for years that Tennessee is one of the top programs in America to recruit to. Negative fans argued that, citing “lack of instate talent” relative to other SEC schools and the fact we’ve sucked for a decade. But Tennessee is a huge draw to kids from everywhere.

The ability to acquire talent has never been a problem at UT. It was the man in the head coach’s chair. Heupel is proof that you can take a guy who was considered a “recruiting question” before, put him at Tennessee, and he suddenly becomes a good recruiter. Same happened with Butch Jones, frankly…he just didn’t do the other things well. Hell, even Dooley landed top 15-25 classes and he was the laziest recruiter on the planet.

I was right there arguing the same thing! Tennessee has a big recruiting budget and has always recruited well. We just finally got a staff that can coach players up and are good at X and O’s! GBO!!!!

People underestimated just how bad Dooley, Butch and Pruitt were. Even if they were average coaches we would have never missed a bowl game. They were embarrassingly dumb.

Hell we still sent several players to the NFL and some of them were our most talented ever like Eric Berry, Patterson and Kamara.

It was obvious to me the entire time that the three stooges were just messing everything up.

It's funny reading comments from ignorant SEC fans that think last year was a one off because their only perception of what UT is 2008-2020.

Sorry folks, but we're going back to what we were from when Neyland took over to 2007 OR BETTER.

So we didn’t lose to Georgia and South Carolina this year? After all we never won those games to begin with. If you pursue a prospect and spend the time and resources to land him and you were the leader for any decent amount of time and you don’t sign that player you lost him
