'24 AL EDGE Jordan Ross (Tennessee)

All that tells me is we need at least two more guys like the other 4.

Ross and "Elite edge guy #2".

We realistically need 8 Leo players that can get after it. To have "good depth " 6 is the minimum
..we need 2 more!!
You want 8 players at LEO who are legit? So in addition to Pearce, Jospehs, Bradley and Herring, you want to add 4 more guys at that position in particular so that we have a 5th-8th~ string? Why aren’t you coaching, you missed your calling

Not necessarily agreeing with his post but we do have to think that Pearce & Joseph’s will be Juniors by time Ross would step foot on campus

So we didn’t lose to Georgia and South Carolina this year? After all we never won those games to begin with. If you pursue a prospect and spend the time and resources to land him and you were the leader for any decent amount of time and you don’t sign that player you lost him
No. You might be able to say that about a commit. Uncommitted means uncommitted. They’re still looking

When you grow up and start dating you’ll understand better. If you like a girl and she likes you but then notices another guy and likes him better… you didn’t lose her. She was never yours

That’s the mindset of the majority of kids today. Hand it to me or I’ll go somewhere that will.
Have you ever played Dynasty mode on any of the old NCAA football video games? There are an assortment of recruiting pitches that matter more to certain players. If immediate playing time is really high on the list for a recruit, then they are paying close attention to depth charts. It isn't necessarily about a kid not wanting to earn it, but if a team has brought in four high level 4*s in the two classes prior to yours at your same position, your chances of being #1 on the depth chart by year two a kind of slim. Our coaches would like to have the talent to regularly rotate 4 guys at LEO during games because you are continually throwing fresh pass rushers at a defense, but that can be a hard sell to a kid wanting the fastest route to lots of playing time.

Did I say that?
You insinuated it. You basically implied the kid is entitled because he wants to play early. Which is ridiculous. He sees what TN has at Edge and realized that he probably won’t see a lot of playing time year 1, so he’s weighing his options. It’s a totally reasonable approach if early playing time is a priority.

I don’t understand why people have to rationalize every time UT loses favor with a certain recruit. It’s not always because of NIL, snake oil pitches, or an entitled attitude. Some kids just think they fit better at other schools, and they’re often correct.

6 is plenty. We need more SDEs and DTs. We also need edge rushers like this too though
