Portal is definitely why we moved as fast as we did. Without hendon we wouldn’t have had the year we did.
I think as fans we just want to gobble up as much talent as possible. Huepel can coach and with athletes all over the board we will continue to win. No doubt Kirby can coach, but he’s being bailed out by an insanely stacked roster. We have had trouble over coming mistakes in the past because we didn’t have the horses. Huepel getting studs on both sides is how we win a championship.

IMHO, Heupel does not need "equal" talent to beat Smart.

AP has noted on more than one occasion that certain schools did pass on him (for whatever reasons) and if he took it all the way to December it was possible for more to do the same.

We need guys like Ross as much or more than larger guys like Williams N. or Kam Franklin. Those larger guys in the 260 range can sometimes be tweeners that are not as explosive and can't actually get sacks in the SEC. Ross is very good against the run and actually very disciplined in his lane integrity. Maybe we can finally start to play 2 Leos together starting in 2024. We need to generate more sacks. I liked what we did against LSU last year when we ran games and stunts, but in other games we just played too vanilla and let the offense pick us apart. Need to generate a pass rush and it will greatly improve our secondary.

I agree. In the NFL with the exception of the Aaron Donald’s of the world, DT is not as highly coveted as edge or corner for a reason

Losing him to Texas would make me irrationally angry. Most overrated “blue blood” they were able to pad their stats in a Micky Mouse Conference and have been mid for most of their existence less the years in 60-70s and half of the 2000s
